Number 27 - Bar Foxx

Gothenburg, oh Gothenburg, I can always find something new and breath-taking here, like this time.

Walking around pointlessly and finding this place, did brighten my day! The first thing that I spotted was how colourful the outside looked. Huge boards written full with chalks, pretty boohoo, yes.

Then inside, lights hanging from above you everywhere. And the furniture is pretty out-of-hand just as everything else there. Some really good posters are hanging on the walls too. And obviously borards with chalks written on them with the menu. The brickwalls appealed to to whole theme a lot too. 

I can’t leve this sign out, which I was hooked on. Reversed to english: “No wifi, here with socialize with each other”

Now, let’s talk coffee. The whole menu is full of food and coffee. So the food is very good, for a good breafest or lunch!  As always I try a cappuccino, and I have to say it was decent. I would say that this place mostly focuses on the food+drink offers, not specifically on coffee, but the coffee is still good!

I would say, that if you have the mood for a this kind of place, which I promise every will have then come here for a lunch with friends!

Number 26 - Kafferosten

Ifyou know Gothenburg, then you know that Linnégatan is full of cafés, they are all just there, invitingly for you to have a great coffee! This day a chose this place, as it looked pretty cool from the outside, let me tell you this was one of the best decisions of my life.  Wow, just amazing! 

The café is very stylish, I mean VERY! Not just the furniture, but that’s too. The walls are full of art, and at one point there are even things hanging above you.

By the window you find a couch full of pillows and a table next to it. So if you don’t feel for tha real tables, then go for the couch that is super comfortable! Also, sitting outside is an option!

The tables are a bit old-looking and every single one has a candle on them. The colours are mostly everything, but maybe more browns, reds and silvers, blues? But I can’t actually say which one because this place is full of colours. This also gives it such a nice comfort, and gives you a feel that you could basically stay here for hours and hours. 

Now the menu. Wow, wow, wow. In case you’re not hooked already by the way the place looks, this will make you fall in love. Seriously, I couldn’t believe this. You can choose from a 100 different kind of cakes that all look incredible.. Hardest choice of my life.

And well if the cakes aren’t enough, then the coffees will mesmerize you. Thier coffeeart is out of this world, I’m serious, I have been to many coffee shops before, but this coffee art is like nothing else. Just look at this.

A cappuccino to the left and a moccha to the right. And they tasted pretty decent too! Just wow.

Now I don’t think I have to ssay taht I do recommend this place to every single person on earth.

Number 25 - Fekete

Well-well, guess who was back in the city? (Budapest I mean..) YES, it’s me!

This is a place that I have wanted to go to for soooo long! And now I finally made it. Better later than never right? By the way Fekete means black in hungarian, and what better than a good black coffee!  In the heart of the city, close to everything is this café placed in the bottom of a huge building, cute.

So, I knew this coffee shop was small, but this small? Who would have guessed! What is inside is the coffe equipment and a small-small table connected to the wall, so you can basically just sit next to each other.

Maybe this place is not for a winter coffee, but for the summer and spring time it is absolutely perfect!  The colour theme is black (yes, you guessed right) and white and a lot of wood coloured to that, very tumblr.  Outside, there are some tables, but the main attraction is a little garden inside of the house where this place is. Unfortunately I sat right outside, and didn’t go into the garden, but I know it’s very decent. 

Now, coffee.  Wow, coffee. Ever had good coffee? This is probably on that level, or better.. Their cappuccino is magical, and their coffeeart is on point. This place is a that kind of café where they put all their effort on making the best coffee they can, and well they succeeded for sure!

Please, go and have a quich coffee date here, you won’t regret it!

Number 24 -  Antikhallarna

Long time, no post, sorry. But now, what did I find? To be honest, I wasn’t the one finding this one. This place was found by one my dearests and nearests, and I have a lot of memories connected to this place, it is just so lovely. 

So the basic idea to this place is to have a lot of small antique shops all around and a café in the middle. What a wonderful idea!  The shops are full of small things and also furniture and jewelry. To be honest, I haven’t purchased anything there yet. But where I have bought things is the café of course. 

So, onto the café. It’s not a closed environment as it is sorrounded by all these small shops. You just walk around and see tables everywhere that are for the café-visitors. 

The whole place has a very-very antique (obviously) feel to it, by the furniture and the architecture  too. For example, the roof is beautifully made out of glass so the light comes through. Not even talking about the amazing chandelier... You instantly get a warm feel when you walk in here, it feels like you’re a princess.

Now the menu.  Huge sandwiches, salads and lunch offers, You will find something for yourself for sure. Oh and the cakes, the cakes are incredible! Coffee. The press is amazing, I can’t describe this, if you’re into that real pressed coffee, you’ll find your heaven here! But as my standards were really high after I tried the press, I have to say the cappuccino isn’t that great. It is still a pretty decent one, but I’d definitely recommend the press over anything or I heard that the teas are also very good!

So, in case you’re planning on having a lunch date, or just a normal long-chat date this place is perfect for feeling special while you’re doing that. It is just lovely..!

Number 23 - da Matteo

Finding a good café in Gothenburg is an easy task, finding an amazing café is maybe a bit more difficult. I succeeded anyway. 

Da Matteo is a swedish coffee roastery and bakery in the heart of Gothenburg. What’s so special about them (also this was the thing that got me) is that they have every step of their production out in the “public”. You can basically observe the process of roasting coffee and you can an also see the breads and all kinds of pastries being baked. It is a breathtaking expreience, if you are in love with coffee as much as I am. 

Here is the coffee heaven when it’s busy.

Here you may see how the bags full of coffee beans are laying there waitingly to be roasted and after that getting drunk by people. (preferably me)

Here is the bar and behind that is the place where the pastrymagic happens, so wonderful. Talking about that, you can basically find any pastry here, freshly baked. I have only tried some, but they were all amzing. You can also eat pizzas and sandwiches if you’d prefer that.  Coffee. Now, I’m not even sure if I have to say that yes, you get amazing coffee here. Though it does have a strange taste, beside the general coffee taste. There are also filter coffee and espresso coffee options. Definitely try both!

I could recommend this for anytime with whoever! It is such a beautiful place with a never-ending coffee smell! The only thing that might be hard is that it closes unfortunately at 6 pm.

Number 22  Condeco

Gothenburg is huge, and it is constanly growing. With this growth is the numbers of Condecos also imporving. 

Condeco is a coffeeshop that exists on every corner. They are all very similar on the inside. Huge comfy chairs and wooden furniture. Plants all around, small and enormous ones too. The rugs fit perfectly with the colour theme and how big they are. And my favourite adding is that there all just these small lights hanging all over you, so pretty. 

 Many of their coffee shops have two floors, hidden spots, huge couches!

As you walk into any of their café, the first thing you usually spot is the huge bar they always have, where they have something for everyone. From toasts to vegan muffins and the most chocolaty brownies ever! You can also order food, they usually have a lunch deal or a meal of the day. That is usually soups or real lunch dishes like lasagne.  Now, coffee. My expectations were very low, as the places that are all around don’t usually have the best coffees. I was so wonderfully surprised! They had all kinds of coffee with all kinds of mils and the ones I have tried so far were all amazing! Real coffee, with delicious food. (Tea is great there too, just a tip)

What else can you ask for? Very nice environment with great things to offer!

Perfect for a lunch date, afternoon tea, breafast or even a before-dinner-snack! I recommend it for everyone that comes across it!

Number 21 - Stadsbiblioteket

Now, this one is slightly different from my previous coffee expeditions. Simply because this isn’t just a cafè, this is a library.

You might ask “Library? What?” Yes, the library. The library because this is the library of Gothenburg. 

I could be ranting about the whole library for hours and hours, because I’ve fallen in love with it comletely.  It has such a warming atomsphere, that just inspires you when you spend time there. All the books and knowledge around you pushes you to learn and want more from life.  It was renovated a year ago, so it is quite modern. My favourited part is probably the huge seats right before the windows, they are so comfy! 

My other favourite part is obviously the cafè. You would think that yes, there should be some kind of coffee at a library.  Now this one is actually a very nice coffee shop, that could exist on its own too in my opinion. 

 Coffee smell and chatty people, that’s pretty much what sorrounds you here.

The coffee is so great too! It has that strong coffee taste, that is needed to concentrate well. Compared to other prices in Gothenburg it counts cheap too! Incredible!  You can choose from many food options too! Sandwiches, cakes or fruits etc. 

When I first thought of the word library what came to my mind was being quiet and not being allowed to even move so you wouldn’t disturb anyone. This place showed me the opposite. You can eat anywhere, find a spot to study or chat for hours over a cup of coffee. 

I’m completely amazed and hooked by this place, please spend an afternoon here if you ever get the chance!

Number 20 - Cupkey

In the city area of Gothenburg, on a lazy sunday did I find this spot after walking around to find a café for at least half an hour! So you can tell I was happy by finally finding one that I liked and wasn’t closed! 

What got my attention from the beginning was the rustic-antique design and the huge windows from the light was raining like cats and dogs! 

The first thing I noticed when I came in was the music, at that moment soft and acoustic. The themed colours were gold and white with wooden furniture and a lot of pillows! The light hanging from above were just an extra goldy source, it all melted together in a nice harmony. 

Then to the menu.  Food you can find here, and a lot of that. From sandwiches through cakes and fruits. Definitely something for everyone. Coffee: Good, but too professional. Don’t get me wrong, it was lovely, but an everyday great coffee!

A very pleasant place to sit and talk the hours away!

Number 19 - Sweet Kaffe & Deli

Well-well, Guess what part of the city I was in? Wrong, because the answer is none. Or in case you thought about a part of Gothenburg, than you were almost there.

Yes, Gothenburg. I moved and so did my desire for coffee.  As someone new in the city (from now on the city is Gothenburg) I didn’t really know where the trams go, which street is the one with that coffee shop or where to even begin my cofffee expedition over here. 

So, my sister told me that she spotted this cute place, and we should try it! Why not?  That’s how we found this place. 

Now being a bit smarter I realised that this is the central area. Always good to know.

Can I just say that the name fits so perfectly right? This place is seriously so sweet. The basic colours are quite dark even though some walls are white, but they lighted it up with candles and fairy lights! The staircase was so magical, and the whole place just had such a cosy feeling to it. Maybe it was the soft music, or the 5 different kinds of waters you could choose from (they put cranberries, strawberries etc. in the waters) or just simply the company that made this so homely. But whatever it was, it surely worked!

They had so many cakes, I wanted to try all of them, healthier are not that healty options too. Salads and sandwiches in case it’s lunch time, or it’s not but you’re craving a salad. You can all find these here. Coffee was very good too, surprisingly good, it was worth a try! 

The only thing that bothered me was that the staff wasn’t the nicest, or maybe just the lady that served us.

Number 18 - Zoska Reggeliző

Wow, this place completely stole my heart. (Sorry Jack)

To start it off with it’s white, books on the shelves, and huge windows. I’m hooked, okay?

The whole place is incredibly cute and cosy. It has a loft area with some sofa-like chairs. There is a wall full of slip of papers, and a table where you can find pens and more of these colorful papers and you can stick your own on that wall!

The place is very lighted and very well designed, I do really like it.

Then the huge windows! Just incredible!

Now about the menu. Lot of cakes and all kinds of simple foods. I tried a gluten-free carrot cake, which was just wonderful! Coffee. Amazing coffee, they do know how to make great coffee. You can have it flavoured too, my friend tried a gingerbread one, and God that was tasty!

I alsothink it tells a lot that I went back three times during the week I discovered it..

I recommend this place to everyone, it is absolutely amazing! More cafés like this, please!

Number 17 - Rengeteg RomKafé - avagy Míves 2.0

So, before anything: Don’t worry the ceiling won’t fall off onto your nicely done hair!  Yes, that’s the feeling you get. It has ruined walls, and crazy design.  What a mean is that everything is on everything, toys, books, candles, clothes everywhere.. But in such a welcoming and calming way. 

I think from the pictures you get the impression. It’s quite a romantic café too, because the lack of light there is in there.

The tables and rugs are all old, like the ones your Grandma has. But what a wonderful Grandma design! 

Now the point of this place is basically the hot chocolate. Sounds just perfect, right? Belive me it is.. Every hot chocolate you have ever dreamt of, comes to life here!  Me, as being completely boring went for a cappuccino, but my lovely cousin tried a few hot chocolates. This one was a dark chocolate with orange flavoured one:

My coffee was okay, just a normal coffee, nothing special. 

I really-really recommend this place for a great and cosy night of drinking yourself drunk on hot chocolate!

Number 16 - Ecocafé

On your way to the famous Heros’ square and want to have a coffee? Even better, you want to have a coffee with low-fat milk or soy milk? Try this place!

Everyone knows Andrássy aveny in Budapest, but everyone also knows that it tends to be quite pricy. So you can imagine me being over the moon when finding this place! 

Firstly, be happy if you find a table, it’s so busy! Everyone is chatting, doing some homework or reading a nice book.  Their design is IKEA-like with the white bar,but it’s not all about that. 

As you can see, the bar is just as long as the place itself.  According to the name, you can find most things in a heathier option too. So the pastries are all amazing, and a whole selection of gluten-free, dairy-free ones are put out too. Then some cakes, paleo as well. Smoothies, because what’s a good ecocafé without smoothis, okay what’s any good café without some smoothies?! On the other end you can also make your own salad, yes please! Some fruits too, obviously.  Now for the coffee: options! All kinds of options for milk and making. Very nice too! It does have that special, strong coffee taste, a real winner!

In the middle of a busy day in the city? Please come here! You will be amazed!

Number 15 - Naspolya Nassolda

Eating healthy foods in this world can be quite difficult at times, especially when you’re at a café and all the cakes are calling your name, I know.  Solution: Tell them to stop OR try this place!

Not too far away from The Opera House can you find this amazing place.  I fell in love with the design right away, white and wooden, please! Oh and fairy lights and huge windows, what else could you ask for? 

The idea of this place is that everything is raw and vegan. All the cakes are hand-made and only have a few ingridients that are all gluten and dairy free. It is a bit extreme though, how literally everything is super healthy and over the top.

(By the way doesn’t this place scream your name too?)

And to stick to their idea, they make coffee with almond milk. Now, that’s an interesting thing to try. It has a very bitterish and strange taste. I personally liked it, but I know it’s not for eveyone. 

In case you just want a normal coffee, this place might not be for you. But if you’re allergic to gluten, lactose or you’re just simply vegan, then this place is on point! 

I absolutley loved this place, I wouldn’t come here everyday, but it’s a great spot to know about in case you’re dying for something like this!

Number 14 - Printa

In the center area, between the ruinous houses, there is where you can find this coffee shop. Wrong, this isn’t a coffee shop exactly, it’s more of a design shop, or concept shop. And just to add a bit it’s a small gallery and silkscreen studio too.

How all these things together?  Well, it is a store where they produce everyday-use things, clothes, paitings in an eco-friendly way.  The painting are mostly drawings and graphics in an urban style from upcoming artists.  The clothes are very simple items, they mostly focus on the prints.

Now the whole place is white, and for me a bit too “sterile”. 

The café area is a bit small, and very much combined with everything else. It is an intereting concept for sure! 

The coffee is nice, but again this place is not focused on that.

Number 13 - Tamp&Pull

On a Sunday afternoon during the chirtmas break, most places are closed, where do you go?  Answer: No idea. I had absolutely no idea.  Solution: Walk around until you find a place to drink something hot at. (or until you can walk, your feet are going to freeze to death)

Up there was the story of how I found this place. I was really chuffed for stumbling upon this little café, as I had previously read about it. 

Imagine a tiny place with maximum 6 tables, a small counter with an enormous coffee machine, so beautiful!  The themed colour was red, I obviously loved it already.  Above the counter was a huge black-board with their amazing coffees on it.  On the left could you find some shelves with their special coffees to buy or just to gaze at them. The whole place had a cosy feeling, it was perfect for an afternoon when my feet were cold, and my bestie had a million stories to tell. 

Now for the coffe. One word, perfect.  This is a place where they really want to make good coffee, and succeed. I don’t even know what else to say, maybe that you need to try it? 

(The difference is unavoidable, she puts sugar 5 kg of sugar in her coffee, I drink it without.)

The only problem with this place for me is that it’s quite far away. But I guess for some people it’s probably the closest café around the corner..

Number 12 - Arioso

Put your bets on where I found myself again! Yes, Király street.. But it’s just so much there to be discovered. 

As many other cafés, this isn’t just a café either, this one is a floral shop as well. A very nice one too, actually. The café side was quite small, but very fancy. Some cakes, flowers, chocolates, flowers, teas and flowers were put out onto the counter very nicely. 

The atomsphere was very calm with the candles and brown wooden chairs.

The waiters were dressed nicely, and gave us menus made of leather. 

As usual, I went for a cappuccino which was very-very nice! We didn’t try the cakes, as we didn’t want to destroy the coffee taste.

Number 11 - Goamama Coffee

Again on the famous Király street did I find myself looking for coffee. 

This one is originally a homeware store, but as it has such an amazing interior design they opened a café to it!  Now, I had wanted to go to this place just by seeing the outside, it looked so much like my style!

We first when into the homeware section, and had to “lock” my wallet otherwise I woud have bought everything..  You can find everything there, from couches to glasses etc. All looking amazingly stylish. I especially liked the mirrors and the lamps, those were fantastic.

The other amazingness I found in there, was how many signs were put out! In the café and store area as well! 

Then entering the café area, I was even more amazed by the interior design! So basic and sleek, still out-standing and amazing. The themed colours are silver and white, also wooden furniture took a huge part of the design. So perfect!

Small lights on every table, along with quotes and plants.  You could also choose from a million sorts of cakes. Coffee was great too, no coffee speciality, but still very nice coffee! 

I absolutely adored this place, please pay a visit here if you’re in that area!
