Time to say Goodbye

Well im getting old now (58 this year!!) and all my children have grown up and moved on. (well most of them. Julian still lives at home, and is in University, Jenson lives down the road with his girlfriend and son and Noah is also living with me still.) But even so, its been fun, and i made some good friends here. Its finally time to say Goodbye. I am pleased to say however that my daughter Jocelynn has created herself a blog to document her travels around the world with my Granddaughter Isla Nevarra. I started potty training in a slow progressive way with the triplets for some months now and it was going so amazing to the point to where they’d only wear diapers at night or when we’re out on a busy day. This past week Oak has been regressing and it’s driving me insane with the new baby coming soon, I had planned on being diaper free with the triplets. The girls are still on the right track and only use pull-ups at night (cloth diapers DO NOT work at night since they release too much liquid) and the occasional day so I’m just praying with my fingers crossed that they don’t start to regress like their brother because 4 diapers at once is a no-go and it’s not happening and I will be damned if he jinxes me and is in diapers all year! If anyone has potty training tips, send them my way please please!

On the brighter note for this morning, we are in Australia and it’s ever so beautiful. We’ve been soaking up the sun and eating pretty much the entire time not to mention practically always in the water like we’re fish, I can’t get the boys out to eat lunch. I’ve been just editing photos and taking orders this morning with my diapey-man hanging in his Nest-A-Tot whilst everyone sleeps in.  Sayoko and I collaborated on this adorable Nest-A-Tot that will be coming to you soon in Grand for tots and Deluxe for babes. More info coming to you soon about that! Super excited.

The best potty training trick i can give you is a little bit hardcore. once they actually know where they are supposed to go  and youve made it super easy (potty in every room) then keep em in pants. when they have an accident and come immediately to be changed make them wait only a few minutes so they realise the discomfort of wet pants before changing them. then every time you change them reiterate that pee/poo goes in the potty. it worked great with my kids even if some do think its a bit mean

My how they’ve grown!!!

Oliver is 15, hes into music, i lost him to the xbox 2 years ago XD, not really but well you know boys and their games! he’s doing well at school and is generally a happy lad despite the occasional teenage strop

Mia is 10 in February, shes loving all her gadgets. She has a tablet, laptop and now a phone!! shes a happy well behaved little girl. she loves to sing and dance and currently wants to  be a famous singer like katy perry when she grows up.

Jocelynn (being held by Nico) is huge!!! she turned 5 in August and has just been through a huge growth spurt. she went from being my dinky lil tot to this little mini model (in both attitude and looks) She loves to dance and draw, part of her christmas box was this easel with over 200 paints and is by far her favourite gift (she even likes it better than her furby and her new tablet). I cannot physically get over how beautiful she is, the perfect mix between me and her dad with her grandma’s beautiful thick, brown hair.

Julian is my daring little character. He was diagnosed with ASD nearly 2 years ago. hes a beautiful little boy with mama’s blue eyes. he knows what he likes, even if he doesnt communicate it well but we are getting there. But the biggest news hes begun eating!!! fair it is like weaning a 6-7 month old as he will only eat yoghurt and blended food. 

Jenson is 2. Mia is holding him. Hes hyper as hell. all the time. he climbs everything. he gets into everything. he likes everything. he wants everything. he has absolutely loved christmas, even if he has tried to lock santa out of the house earlier in december.

How have you been? And have you done any work for your shop recently? :)

We’ve been really busy and no i havent, i doubt ill ever actually update my shop again.  Just before I left I adopted a newborn Jenson and life has just been hectic. The twins didnt take great at the time. they dont like sharing me with each other, let alone sharing me with a newborn but we’ve finally found our rhythm and everyone is getting along great...most of the time

Jenson Nicholas Simm Born on May 2nd 2016 Weighing 3lbs 12oz

I guess I should go a little into the birth story? Well Alliyah (birth mother) was induced at 34 weeks. Due to her age, the pregnancy became quite high risk in the third trimester and she was having appointments every four weeks. At 34 weeks though, the baby was only measuring 31. When everything was fine at 30. Also Alliyah was showing the early signs of pre-eclampsia, the hospital decided it was safer to induce her.

She was hysterical when he was born. She kicked her legs and cried at us to take him away. And as he wasn’t our child yet we went down to the nicu and just watched him. We were used to not being allowed to hold our baby at birth (from the twins) he had no breathing issues but some feeding issues (that he is now over!) the adoption papers were signed, and after signing him over to us. She asked to say goodbye “cos a can’t take im now” the nurse placed him in her arms and she was the first person to hold him. She just broke down, she was so upset she gave us back the baby and starting screaming at us to “fuck off”

Well fast forward a fortnight and he’s doing well, still in an incubator but can take him out for cuddles. 4lbs 10oz. And this time, the kids didn’t cry when they met their little sibling! Julian did only because I picked him up. anyway, that is the big thing that’s kept us busy all may! A tiny baby that can scream like the rest of them and will be home soon to a beautiful montessori nursery, and a crazy crazy family (I almost feel bad taking this innocent baby into our crazy family)

Can I just say…I have the world’s greatest husband.

Nico said he would Put Amelia to bed last night…

Picture 1: 6.20pm

Amelia had been washed, dried, hair plaited (oh yeah, Nico can plait hair!) and pjs on. She also decided she wanted her “dodee” since she was “sweepy” (pacifier and sleepy)

Picture 2: 7:00pm

I was putting twins to bed, so Nico gave them hugs and kisses, Amelia then stamped her feet and said “I want loves too!” so she got her cuddles and kisses a little early.

Picture 3: 8:10pm

40 minutes after Amelia’s bedtime. I had just finished getting the twins to sleep, and came back in the front room to hopefully spend a bit of time with my husband. I carried Mia to bed, threw a blanket over Nico and went up to bed with snacks and watched Dirty Dancing.
