I’m sorry Damon, I love you, but I think Graham got this one. This album is insane. It’s brilliant from start to finish. I cannot stop listening to it, just as how I can’t stop listening to Everyday Robots, but this album is just on another level of greatness. 

So, to ANYONE, who have missed this album, I urge you to listen. People have been talking about how Damon is the master collaborator and his productiveness of making music non-stop... is true, but!!!! Graham have also been making music for the longest time, just mostly by himself, and yeeeet his output is beyond insane. A+E was his 8th studio album, released in 2012 and I think it sounds refreshing up until this date. I’m not comparing the two by any beyond means, but I just want people to know that there’s this dude making awesome music aside from Damon that is definitely worthy of a listen. 

So, y’all hipsters want an underrated artist? Here’s Graham Coxon for you.

You know that one album that you’ve listened to so many times and you’d defend it with your life and you can anticipate every single little note that comes after the other and you can sing along to every word and it just has a special place in your heart that no other album can fill.

once you go flac you’ll never go back

For some foolish reason, I just started learning about the technicalities of music. At least on a digital scale. To think I wanted to be a music producer!! TO THINK!!!!!!! 

Well, as my 5 year old 64gb iPod touch 4th generation is dying, I’ve been looking for other ‘mp3′ players as an alternative (i know, i know bec i thought ipods were the best). Apparently, you don’t only need high-quality headphones/earphones to get high-quality music. You also need HIGH-QUALITY MUSIC FORMAT and PLAYERS. Maybe it’s just me, but WHAT? What else have I been doing wrong for the half years of my life???? 

I came across various ones, but the price and the specs of Fiios intrigued me. With three other variations, I had no clue of the difference of each one. So, ‘techinically’ I had to do my research. Unknowingly, there are other formats aside from MP3. Uh??? How? APPLE?? !!!!!!! And one of ‘em is flac. In order to listen to one of the highest possible quality of music on a portable music player, you have to download music in a lossless format that doesn’t compromise any bits of music in the track itself. Cos in order to market Apple’s ingenious idea of thousands of music in a hand-held machine it had to find a way to make music fit, thus cutting pieces off a song. SO THE BREATHING THE MUFFLED NOISES THE FEEDBACKS BASICALLY ALL THE IMPORTANT TRIVIAL BITS HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED. NOBODY WANTS THAT. 

Just imagine those sighs, Caleb Followill’s touching lips while singing... the Beatle’s weird background noises. Nada. 

Roughly speaking, if you compare music and video format, if you have an mp3 (not the 320kbps) and you’re listening to it on an iPod, you’re basically watching 720p on a 1080p screen smartphone. Which is not really bad especially if you’re using the earphones that came with the phone. BUT! If you’re using expensive  headphones using an iPod, then you’re not really getting much of a difference and you actually spent too much for headphones that don’t really utilise the audio that is coming out of the speakers. I am not an expert at this and I really am stupid for not knowing this sooner but basically, the specs of your music player, to your music format to your speakers should match. 

SOOOOOO.... 

I’M A FOOL. 

It’s now time to renew my relationship with music by re-listening to all the music in my library and fall in love again, or not. Depending on what album.
