there was it:Â that good olâfashion heroism.
there were many heroes in ceres centropolis and while they all stood for justice, they all had a different effect on people. rory felt that smile play upon her lips, tugging at the corners and made it very difficult for her maintain that neutral expression as she commanded the crowd. she watched him take those steps back and fly through the air, easily taking down the perps. then he said that catch-phrase: never fear, for I have arrived. it was hard not to remember the way her brother would recite those words when she was younger; heâd always been a fan for those who truly stood for righteousness and justice without ever holding any ulterior motive. Â
the crowd reacted almost the same way rory did, except they werenât afraid to let out those cheers. the phones moved from the robbers to the patriot as he gave the crowd a thumbs up. the old school heroes always had a flair for showmanship that managed to ease a smile on everyoneâs faces. the panic dissipated from crowd. it was replaced by an excitement - there was a hero in front of them. she could hear the parents whisper - they questioned if he was who they thought he was. rory smiled.
âalright, alright,â she spoke, loudly and clearly. she walked in front of the crowd, her arms held up in the air as she gestured for them to all back-up.  âthis is official inner sanctum business now. i need you all to back-up and move to safety.â someone attempted to argue but rory shut it down.  âdonât argue with me sir,â she said, sternly as she glared at him, âthe patriot and i will be taking care of the situation. right now, we need to you all to move beforââ
there was no time to get the warning out. she heard a slow whistling start to grow before the sounded started to pierce the air. once it got to the point where she winced, rory looked over to the building. she didnât need to check again before she shouted to the crowd, âget down!!â as she reached over, shielding part of the crowd with herself, she looked at curtis and nodded.  âpatriot, we need your help. do it. get them.â
There were a lot of things in this new world that Curtis could not completely understand, but one thing will never change: Â evil must be defeated. Â
Never fear, for I have arrived - the very first time that he had shown up as The Patriot, that was the first thing that he said to the people he saved. Â At the time, he didn't realize how big of a deal that would become - all that he wanted at the time was to make sure that these people knew that he would take care of them, protect them from whatever came their way. Â A hero could be many things, but as he stepped into that role of a hero, Curtis knew that he would be the hero that he wanted, that he envisioned - a hero who couldn't save those who needed him wasn't a hero in his eyes.
Aurora took care of the crowd and Curtis owed her much for it. Â He smiled at that crowd until he caught sight of the man arguing with the petite blonde. Â His brows knitted as he approached her but that piercing sound trickled into the air - a high pitched whistling that echoed into his mind. Â He brought his hands to ears, masked them from the sound as he shot a look at Aurora. Â With her command, he nodded.
Quickly, he turned around to face the building but as the whistling continued, it transformed into a the harsh movement of a giant metal weapon. Â The weampon flew through the air, aimed at the crowd of people. Â Curtis sprung up immediately. Â He rushed to catch the large metal object. Â His palms were held out in front of him, his hands were held open ready to brace himself from the weapon. Â When the rough metal touched his palms, he gripped it. Â The force that weapon was thrown at pushed himbackward, shoving him back slightly but Curtis was The Patriot. Â Strength beyond that of normal man was part of his abilities.
Curtis let out a lough, hearty laugh as he took the object. Â He bent it in half before he dropped it to the ground. Â He grinned at the crowd before he turned his attention to the person in the building. Â "Excuse me, pal," he said, his voice loud and commanding as started to walk to the front of the building, "You're causing more trouble than you're worth. Â I suggest you give yourself up before I have to get serious, friend."
