Added a cat to the wall in their room
Replaced the light fixture in my main bathroom today. The old one was... fine, but it definitely wasn't my style. The new one fits what I'm going for better and because it's frosted makes the light in there a little softer.
Project status: complete!
Honestly every time I finish a house project I think it’s the best one I’ve ever done, but this one might be like, actually the best one I’ve ever done.
Sneak peak of what’s going on my kitchen wall in the next few days.
Had this all typed out on my main blog before I even remembered this one exists. Might have to dig out some of the more recent pictures and get this up to date
Before
And after. Now that I've finally organized my art supplies I guess I'll have to come up with some other excuse not to make any art.
do you have heated floors? + share where you live in the tags if you're comfortable
yes
no
Replaced the warped/water damaged vanity cabinet doors with curtains this morning. I need to replace the entire vanity, but since it's highly unlikely I'll find one the same size and shape that also means redoing the tile on the walls and probably the floor and I can't do all of that at once right now. So this'll do for a while.
When you don't have the money, skills, or tools to fix a previous owner's handy work correctly but you do have creativity and just enough patience to stand on a step stool looking up for an hour or so.
I can't believe that in nearly 50 years I'm the only one who bothered to paint this room. I mean I know it's just a mud/laundry room, but you still gotta be in there long enough to fold your clothes, it might as well not look terrible right?
Decided to start to tackle the absolute beast that is my laundry room today. It's a much bigger project than I anticipated and organizationally I just made it far worse. But on the bright side there's a little color in there for the first time.

Painting my kitchen next weekend!
I ordered a hammock!
We don’t have a hammock district so I got it from Amazon. Found one that fits my budget with really good reviews - including good reviews from people with larger bodies - and it should be here Thursday.
I’ve always wanted a hammock, but this is the first time in my adult life that I’ve had a place to put one. I actually have room for several, so eventually I might get a second one for the back yard.
The knobs and pulls on my kitchen cabinets (on the right) were original to the house, making them darn near 50 years old. I don't hate them but I also didn't - and wouldn't- pick them. So I replaced them.
Things I found while cleaning out the coat closet: a matchbook from a place I've never heard of, five chapsticks, a quarter, an old I voted sticker, an even older dental insurance card, a receipt I couldn't read, and my bike light.
