"Selfishness as a virtue." This is one of the many morals that we can get form the movie, The Sleeping Dictionary. John, one of the major characters in the movie, strongly shows this value. He choose to follow what his heart desires over what his country and other people want him to do. Knowing that he holds a higher position in their country, still he never stops thinking about Selima and his sturdy love to her. At the end, John is a great proof that selfishness does not only mean being wrong but it's beyond thinking oneself.

The Sleeping Dictionary Film Narrative

In a remote village in Sarawak,Malaysia, there was a British man who just arrived named John who wanted to civilized the people of the said place. Suddenly, John fell in love to Selima, the sleeping dictionary, and wanted to fight for their love. Due to John's intense love to Selima, he went back to Sarawak and wanted to get Selima with their son. Then John secretly made a plan to took Selima away. Thus, John succeeded in his plan and they live in an another tribe happily.

The Impact of Advertisement on Society

Our society has brought so many changes in our daily living. The changing minds of the people cause so many new influences and ideas. The rise and evolution of advertisements in different products and services helps world’s economy to boom. It also helps the lives of so many people to have employment.

There is a great impact of advertisement in our society today. The new trends of living have been promoted by means of advertisements. It helps the people make their lives easier and at the same time it also gives the public the various options to choose from. Advertisements serve to be the guide of the people on how and what to choose the appropriate products and services. On the contrary, there also times that advertisements open the minds of the crowd about the different societal issues happening in the world. There are instances that advertisements unintentionally touch the current issues of our society. They somehow serve to be the eye-opener and at the same time a bully to same people. Truly advertisements vary according to their products and services but they become similar in one thing: to increase the quality of the people’s lives and to sell their own products and services.

In conclusion, advertisement is helpful but at the same time a bully to some point. It may promote people’s living through the products and services they carry but it also unleash some hidden societal issues existing in the world.

Cartoon movies are made to entertain and inform us about some essential lessons in life. In that manner, cartoon movies follow some specific conventions or characteristics that prove its concept and form.

The cartoon movie "Hotel Transylvania" possesses the conventions of a typical cartoon movie. Aside from the fact that the characters are not real and imaginary, the happenings in the story are also unrealistic. Another thing is that most of the cartoon movies have happy endings just like in "Hotel Transylvania". It also shows exaggeration of facial expressions and the characters possess "super-powers". The characters also possess unusual abilities and super strengths that is beyond our imaginations and capabilities.

Thus, "Hotel Transylvania" is a typical cartoon movie that possessess not all but some of the conventions of a cartoon movie.
