Natana Valmont and Karen Mendes

Natana Valmont never had a real bond with her father and never wanted the attention that came with his political world. Growing up under Henri’s expectations felt suffocating—how she should dress, speak, study, even who she should become. Natana rejected the Valmont money, calling it “corrupt,” and built her own path as a freelance photographer, traveling constantly for work. Karen balanced her teaching schedule with long writing sessions for the novel she dreamed of publishing. For a while, their small apartment felt like a real home, full of laughter, creativity, and the freedom Natana never had growing up.

But years passed, and the spark slowly faded. Karen now lives mostly inside her office, writing until exhaustion, shuffling around in pajamas and barely speaking on the days Natana returns from trips. Natana feels the distance growing but refuses to accept that her relationship might be unraveling the same way her parents’ did. She clings to the hope that love can survive exhaustion, routine, and silence. Their two cats, Juniper and Miso, wander between them like tiny reminders of what once felt easy. Whether Natana and Karen can fix what’s slipping away… remains uncertain.

Samantha Ferrety built her life on discipline, ambition, and the quiet belief that doing things right would eventually pay off. Samantha had suspected the affairs for years, though she never had proof—just late nights, half-heard calls, and the growing certainty that she had become an accessory in Henri’s life. Still, he insisted they keep the façade “for the sake of his image,” manipulating her with guilt and promises he never intended to honor.

Everything collapsed the day she went to city hall to drop off forgotten documents and walked directly into the scene that confirmed everything: Henri with a mistress young enough to call her “ma’am.” Natana was already an adult, so nothing was left to salvage except Samantha’s own dignity. The divorce was quiet, efficient, and final. She left the mansion with her settlement and her freedom—not to become someone new, but to continue the life she had already built as a capable PR professional and a devoted mother. And Natana—independent, bold, unapologetically herself—is not a disappointment in Samantha’s eyes, but her greatest pride.

Henri and Seraphine Valmont

Henri Valmont comes from a long political dynasty and treats legacy like a duty. Seraphine presents herself perfectly to the public—young, elegant, supportive—but her past with him is a secret both prefer to keep buried.

Inside the house, the conflict is simple: Henri wants a male heir to continue the Valmont line, and Seraphine keeps delaying pregnancy with excuses while secretly staying on birth control. She has no interest in giving him a child; she’s focused on securing the fortune, the mansion, and everything that comes after Henri is gone.
