A very hard truth that you will repeatedly have to come to terms with as a writer over and over again is this:
Your writing is not for everyone, no matter how crazy good you are. Some people wonāt like it. Even the people closest to you - friends, family, etc. - might not like it. Even the people who have previously liked your other stories might not like your writing in the future.
This does not make you a bad writer.
This does not mean your story sucks.
It means you havenāt found your audience.
No matter how many times you encounter this, it will never, ever get easier. Imposter Syndrome will be breathing down your neck hard and fast every single time.
Remember, this is your story. No one has to like it. You just have to tell it to share your vision, your dream. To express yourself and find freedom that only writing a story can give you.
Real magic - getting to take photos of a friendās book. @grem-lin picked the perfect blue & orange color combo for the cover of her adorable, witchy debut.
I looked at a photo set of Hayao Miyazaki being creatively blocked, but still pushing himself to make his art just right. And Iām keeping that in my heart. Right now, even if Iām a little flustered, something beautiful might still come out of my work.
How is life Tumblr? I havenāt been good about posting on here. Iām also on Instagram under the same handle, but Iām going to try to catch up with Tumblr as my New Years resolution. And I wish you happy reading and good book pick fortune today!
The U.S.A. has made it past a big threat, for now. Today we celebrate, tomorrow we get back to work.
Looked through my shelves for a read screaming autumn. Voila! An Enchantment of Ravens fits the bill. I really liked how this book portrayed the āothernessā of fair folk, their missing emotions causing their trickster habits.

Confession: I stopped reading the Throne of Glass series after Heir of Fire. Which Maas series do you prefer? Court of Thorns will always have its dark fingers wrapped around me and my boyfriendās hearts.
These leaves are too green, itās still not fall. Going to have to keep checking them until they turn orange.
A mandala coloring book and another book from my second chance DNF pile. I donāt remember why I struggled devouring Of Fire and Stars. My head has still retained a vague sense of the plot. What popular books do you struggle to recall? Do we all need remembralls?
Debating updating my audible account so I can get Night of the Dragon next month or Shadow Between Us.
Good morning world and all who inhabit it! May your to-do list crumble beneath your willpower this week. I have a pile of books called DNF December, where I try to finish everything I didnāt finish during the rest of the year. What do you do with your DNF books? Do you ever give them a second chance or are they dead to you forever?
@probably_dislexic ās parents gave us a pretty plant! So I found a book to match. Do you have a plant baby? Any suggestions for bookish names for this plant?
What the flip flop, itās almost August?! Time to pick out my August TBR. The only book not pictured is Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalco.
Tried to push through a lot of reading yesterday, but realized I needed to finish a personal project. Anyone looking forward to any Sci-fi releases coming up this year? Goddess in the Machine is part of my August TBR alongside The Toll and Where Dreams Descend.
