Religion is Rebellioüs

You know why I really like Islam ? And Christianity and Judaism? And all the religions that had to make their mark early in the history of our world ?

Because they were all rebels. The most rebellious thing you could do at that time and in our time is to believe in and worship God.

It’s not the coolest thing to do. It’s not necessarily cheered on by its outsiders. It’s a super humbling experience because against all odds and all opinions. You’ve chosen to do what feels right to YOU.

Religion is rebellious. In its own right. The truth is religion came at a time when traditions were everything. (They still are in some parts of the world)

Religion challenged EVERYTHING. Challenged our ancestors with questions like why do you worship statues ? Gold ? Material ? Why did your ancestors do this ? Why is this so wrong to change ?

The idea of religion in itself is to question everything. The problem with religion is when the system wondered why we continued to question even it.

I’m not saying we should ever go against religion. God forbid. I’m saying the whole reason it started was because prophets came to disrupt the masses in a positive spiritual way. I truly believe rebellion and religion are synonymous and I will continue to explore this in projects to come. Especially REBELFRMDASYSTEMNOTGOD#!

Released a mixtape under a nü identity.. Honestly this project was supposed to be called “Hashtag” .. day I was uploading it I was in the shower and jus had the sudden urge to name it “God Loves Ü” (which shares the same name as track 9) .. I prayed on it to make sure it was God Who placed the thought in my head and no one else. When I felt sure of my decision I went with my gut and here we are. God Loves Ü.. even when everything on this earth tries to convince you you can’t comebak from your lowest moments. Remember God Loves Ü. Sonically not a bad start to my nü identity. Still got a lot to prove to myself. Excited :#

Everytime I hear this song I feel very free.

I remember I’m not really chasing anything that I want.

I’m chasing things I’ve been told to want.

I don’t really want money itself. What I want is to be comfortable . What I want is to be able to help others. I want to make art that I love .

These are things I can have and do today. Without money.

Problem is I Love my possessions. I love getting fly. I love shopping. I love traveling. I love luxury for the same reasons I hate it.

But what I need is genuine detachment. Cos really. What’s it all for ?

I say it’s to help others. I tell myself that.
