I know it's more nuanced than this but I think having a hard policy of thinking anyone who genuinely hates one group of queer people for their identity might as well hate all of us and thus I should block any queerphobic queer person I see can do a lot to save you from believing anything exclusionists say.

Hey everyone! So there’s this thing going on where scammers are joining big discord servers and scraping all the usernames in it before leaving. They then start to send friend requests to every username they find with the intent to try and scam whoever it is. These accounts will have no servers in common or no friends in common and may be relatively new. I’ve also heard these accounts may impersonate artists so please be careful!

I'm in several youtuber discords (NTTS and Vinesauce) so I'm going to guess that this person joined one of those, grabbed my name, then left.

As a general rule of thumb: Any real artist will not go about approaching clients offering commissions. You approach them.

If someone adds you as a friend and randomly offers you a commission, tells you they're a 'game dev' and to try a free game, or anything unwarrented, that's 100% a scam.

Be smart, be safe, trust your gut and don't click on any links for anything "free".

we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation

So after extensive interrogation I have an update:

my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.

the truth is actually weirder

she’s aware dandelions look like this

she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.
