“I don’t think there is one. We should get out of the room though, quickly.” Raven told the other as she turned at a noise only to see nothing there “Now.”

“You could say that,” He laughed and shook his head as they began to walk along the path leading through the garden, his tail flicking as they walked through the path. “Also, I was born extremely flexible. My mother used to call me kleiner Affe, or little monkey.” 

Extremely flexible? Now that he got from her she was sure, she was known for her flexibility. “Little monkey, thats cute, fitting with the tail.” She teased lightly as she walked through the gardens of the mansion, she still couldn’t believe this was real.

Had he known more, he would question why she was so used to teleporting, and why she had experience. However, he chalked it up to her powers, or just someone’s who’s center of balance was  better than most and wasn’t privy to sickness. 

Grinning broadly he thought for a moment. “When I was twelve, maybe thirteen. I was watching my step sister perform and one of the line’s snapped and…before I knew it I had her in my arms and was landing safely on the ground.” 

“One hell of a origin story huh?” She commented thinking on the fact that he likely had his powers before that, from birth. It would make sense that he would survive the cliff if he had his powers, she couldn’t think of another explanation.

Kurt nodded and smiled as she laid a hand on her arm. Something felt…very familiar about it, but…he couldn’t place it, though. He nodded and wrapped his tail around her middle. “Alright, but I warn you…it often makes people feel a little…ill.” He laughed a little. “Alright! Hold on tight!” 

With a tell-tale BAMF the both disappeared, traveling through portals and then with another BAMF, they appeared in the garden. Landing lightly on his feet. Giving Raven a triumphant smile, he bowed after letting her go gently. 

“Tahdah!” 

“I have experience.” She commented lightly as she prepared herself for the teleportation, Azazel had done it with her many times her body had adapted in the end. Removing her hand from his arm she smiled. “Neat trick, your good at that, how long have you had the ability?” She asked him curiously, had his mutation been what had saved him all those years ago?

Kurt chuckled at the mention of her causing poor Charles such trouble. She almost sounded like him. He was professional, yes, but this was also the man who used his bamfs and his teleporting in mutantball. The man who chased kitty around with a super soaker one summer morning, waking her up from a dead sleep. 

“Perfect!” 

He smiled as she returned to her form and offered his arm. “We can either teleport there, or take it the old fashioned way. The choice is yours.”

“Well I showed you my power, so now you can show me yours.” She said with a soft smile as she rested her hand on his arm gently. Biting the inside of her lip she pushed her long hair back and smiled as she prepared herself for his ability.

“What exactly do you mean?  How did he come to be at the school?”

“The school, america, in general. He was dead, he died, I watched it happen, I...”

“Kurt, where did he come from Charles?”

“Oh, I figured that. Just some harmless fun!”  He smiled lightly in assurance, and then laughed loudly as she joked that beast might be his father. While he was close with the blue furred doctor, he was more of a friend than a father. “I guess it’s just nice to know that i’m not the other blue furred mutant around here now! And you can shift into almost anyone! It’s rather fascinating.”

He looked outside and then smiled lightly. “It’s a beautiful day outside. How about we go for a walk and continue talking? That is, if you don’t have any other pressing matters.” 

“I can shift into any-one but I can’t duplicate mutations unless they are physical. I could shift into you but I couldn’t teleport like you can, much like I can look like Charles but can’t read minds. Charles thought it fascinating when I was a child what my mutation could do, he did not approve when it flared up in public, I changed my eye colour once I thought he was going to pass out he got so annoyed.” She laughed lightly before nodding, “A walk sounds nice.” she smiled as she returned to her previous form.

Kurt laughed, his fangs showing as he did. “Ah, you must have been very hungry. I’m glad charles fed you and let you stay. Of course, even as a young boy he must have been a very kind person.” He had no doubt that Charles had ever been unkind. It wasn’t in his nature. 

As she shifted he gasped a little. She was the same shade of indigo blue he was, her eyes as yellow as his. His eyes widening he let out a breathless chuckle. “Look at that! We’re both blue.” He chuckled. “You think we might be related somehow?” It was a joke, but Kurt had no idea how right he was. 

‘You think we might be related?’ The words made Raven feel sick, he had no idea how right he was. The words made her want to cry, she knew he didn’t know, that he was just making a joke but hearing the words that proved he had no idea all but tore Raven to pieces, she brought this on herself. “No, Charles likes to tell me thats not how genetics work, a mutant being blue doesn’t mean they are related to other blue mutants, but hey maybe beast is your dad?” She said trying to joke her stomach clenching in pain as he said it. Maybe moving back had been a stupid idea.
