should i make incorrect quotes for atsv
Okay. So I have to ramble before the new ep hits, and of course- it's about Jimpulse. This might make no sense, but it's late and letting this rot in my drafts feels like a waste, idk.
Warning: everything is on character and some things are MY interpretations, if u don't agree I'm open to discussion- But ob, be polite.
So:
Jimmy's behavior towards Impulse is really interesting to me. Jimmy (usually) is really mindful about his teammates, and doesn't do anything to harm them unless he gets to his limit, which is uncommon. So why? Why did he behave like this?I have a theory, and as crude as it sounds— Impulse isn't either an exciting nor a desirable teammate for Jimmy.
Let me explain: Teaming with someone you have never teamed with before is naturally exciting. You're going to be curious how they work as a team, how helpful they are, how it feels to be that close— It's something new. Exciting. Curious. At the same time, teaming with someone who you have teamed before is comfortable, familiar and safe. You know what to expect, and what is expected of you. It has its charm.
And Impulse, to Jimmy, is neither.
Impulse and Jimmy have teamed before. Jimmy knows Impulse, he knows how he works. He's nothing new. But at the same time— Impulse is not 'familiar.' He might be safe and he might be trying his hardest to make things comfortable, but there isn't that familiarity that comes with old teammates that you could trust with your life.
There just isn't.
And that's a new layer I want to add. Last life (in my opinion) was one of Jimmy's lowest points, due to a magnitude of reasons, his teammates being one of them. And even if Jimmy isn't -that- resentful, I personally believe that he, subconsciously or not, carries some of that resentment in his chest.
For people like Grian and Martyn, that resentment gets buried and pushed aside due to all the time and good memories that Jimmy already has of them—They go way back, after all— But Impulse?Impulse and Jimmy didn't have previous history. There's nothing to cover that lingering bitter feeling. And that feeling is what makes Jimmy feel little to no guilt when he pushes Impulse aside and plays him like a fiddle.
Ok, not a *fiddle*, but Jimmy is definitely way less invested in the whole team than Impulse.When Impulse asks Jimmy to team up, Jimmy hesitates. And I'm pretty sure that if Impulse hadn't offered that future diamond, Jimmy would have made him give him -something- valuable to 'make things fair.'
Their whole relationship was transactional, and it also painfully one-sided, even if it wasn't clear at first. Jimmy enjoys the time he spends with Impulse, sure. Of course he would, Impulse *is* his friend. But besides that and his usual kindness, he doesn't act any different towards him than he would act towards any other player, besides calling their duo a 'team.'
If they hadn't said outwardly, I would honestly have believed that there was no actual allyship at all.Impulse, on the contrary, actively searches for jimmy, spends time in his house, asks about his plans and wishes, and so on. He puts effort and gives, meanwhile Jimmy just takes and gives back the usual.
Jimmy, unlike Impulse, kept treating Impulse as if he was just anyone else, not his teammate, and honestly, it shows.Let's talk about the betrayal. Jimmy, no pun intended, is actually very impulsive by nature. Even if you go to the start of the series, you can notice this behavior of him very clearly.
He's impulsive— And more than a few times he takes inexplicably bad decisions that no one, not even himself, understands why he took.The betrayal was one of these impulses. (Again, no pun intended)
But unlike the ones before this, it isn't an impulse that puts himself in harms way. This time, he put someone else in its way. I relate this to his new found confidence after getting rid of the Canary curse. (theres probably something to say about jimmy indirectly killing impulse and then causing him to end up in last place when hes KNOWN for always ranking high, but my brain can't brain anymore) Jimmy wronged Impulse more than once, but because he got away with them (Because Impulse is like that) he didn't think twice before selling out his teammate, and I honestly believe that the weight of what he had done didn't hit until the death message hit the screen. And Jimmy started feeling guilty over it — but Impulse forgave quickly, so it was fine.
And that feeling carried even after he saw the message of Impulses permadeath. Jimmy didn't mourn, didn't even get shocked. If anything, he sounded slightly done- like he had seen it coming.He ransacked Impulses house, loudly complained how he had nothing *worth* stealing, and didn't stop anyone from burning down Impulses house. No, what he did was, while the house was still burning behind him, he directly went to Big B to joke about now being with him instead.
Immediate replacement.
No tears were shed. No mourning, no anything. Because in Jimmy's heart, he hadn't actually considered Impulse a teammate, not at all,Even when Impulse was trying his hardest.
In conclusion, wow Nice life is such a nice, lighthearted, unserious serious funny spin-off. Definitely no one took it to heart and made angst. Nope. That would be so crazy...
Anyways one-sided jimpulse now rots my brain. Fun.
Please stop trigger tagging with #epilepsy tw/cw/warning/etc.
I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is
I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.
Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
Here’s proof of what I mean:
THIS POST IS 100% OKAY TO REBLOG, I ENCOURAGE PEOPLE WITHOUT EPILEPSY TO ESPECIALLY DO SO!
And if you’re in the notes or tags telling us to “just get a new tag”

mars bars ramble time. impulse’s nice life episode two ruined me. spoilers ahead BEWARE!!!
(all stuff written here is solely in character, as with all of my life series rambles regarding episodes!! also should clarify i am writing this on like zero sleep and also haven’t seen the other povs because they are not out yet and i don’t know how much i’ll revise when i do watch them. okay cool)
lots of crazy words below the cut!
Jimmy really got to choose between a healthy, supportive, nice boyfriend teammate who cared about his wellbeing vs a hydrogen bomb
and he didn't blink twice as he went and chose the bomb with the biggest smile in his face
Introducing Agender Arceus
Forgot to post this here and OMG HOW so yeah, there you go:
~~~
1- Villies tries to form an alliance with Cabin, and this causes a split in Cabin because Scott wants it because Scott is Scott, while Bdubs and Etho don't want it because they're the ones (Scar is neutral, he just wants to kill people)
2- Red Scar (I saw fanart) and Scar makes a multi kill
3- The hunt for Greens™
4- Impulse double teams up and either makes LG and Rejects unite or hate each other. There's no in-between.
5- Red Joel? Maybe Joel is dead even?
6- Deaths.
7- Boogie Grian/Gem
8- Jimmy dies bottom 4th - 6th
9- rocky CC dynamic
10- At least 2 yellows go red
All random btw! This is just for fun! If I get something good, nice. If not, nice! And for the record, I'm personally rooting for an Impulse win, I think that would be just so poetic, but any other Reject win would also be nice ^^)
PS: It's like... 5 AM- ish in my country as I'm posting (wrote it yesterday) if a life member has posted already (which DAMN) , then *please* don't spoil thank you I would like to watch it when it's /not/ dark outside (=. = " )
The moon vs the lighting strike
1) Purely c!, dramatization of Pearl's death from Jimmy's POV, My own interpretation of things y'all
.
.
.
If he continued to be alone, so high off the ground, he would have run and ran until a silver arrow pierced his heart and claimed his life.
If he had been alone, so far from the ground, he might have fallen like he has done so many times before, with the moon staring down at him as he crumbled to the ground.
But he wasn't alone, his knight came to make him company, to keep him safe while they stood on a dirty, dangerous platform, so high up in the sky. And with the comforting warmth of the wild shot next to him, he stopped in his tracks. He stopped, he stood up, and faced the moon.
And he saw it, for a split second, he saw the moonlight reflect on the tip of the silver arrow. He stopped, he pulled out his bow.
His arrows were plain, his bow was as basic as you could find, worn and torn. But he didn't flinch when he shot, one, two, three shots to an invisible figure he couldn't recognize.
But when he saw blood flow, and the lightning struck the ground, the light reflected on his face, and his eyes widened for a second.
His knight was now hugging him and spinning him around, so completely proud, but he couldn't help but stare at the moon shining in the dark sky, dumbfounded, his heart beating like crazy in his chest.
And he swore he saw it shine red for a second before the sky started to cloud.
But he couldn't stare at it for longer, because his knight was already pulling him towards their base, towards *home.* And Jimmy, as he heard the screams of joy and glee from his other teammates, another pair of arms surrounding him, couldn't stop smiling.
And he felt the noose around his neck untighten just a little more as he laughed away.
Joel & Jimmy in my head since session 7 be like:
I'm watching Grian's perspective and there is something so revealing about Villies opinions on Pearl and Jimmy and reputation in general
Grian, to Scott says that they "lost our cannon". Not their teammate, their "cannon". An inanimate object used to cause destruction. Which rings back around to the start of the series.
They treated Pearl wrong, didn't realise until she was gone but even if she is, still persist with the frankly dehumanising manner they refer to her as. She was the one who was going to help them win. She's the one with the reputation. She was the one everyone is afraid of. She as Scarlet Pearl is a cannon, a weapon, that they can use. She is someone they can command ask to strike anyone down. She is a full moon. She went out in at blaze of glory when she died, but that isn't true at all. They deny that Etho's statement that she was thrown away like a "wet rag" but that's just how the Villies decided to treat their lives. Grian has only 2 but can spare a life. Pearl died to a trap but she could spare a life.
Then Jimmy, when Grian and Gem discuss how Pearl dies, at no point does it ever pass their mind that Jimmy could of taken out Pearl due to skill (which he did, never missing a shot on a tiny target), it must of been only one shot with the arrow because they think Jimmy is incompetent, that's his reputation. It never occurs to them that they could be sending Pearl on a suicide mission because they incorrectly weighed both of the players because of their reputation.
Pearl always deserves so much better, and Jimmy capitalised on his reputation massively
Hi, hello so I *loved* this analysis because it put into words what I was thinking so let me ramble here, ok? okay (english is not my first language) Villie's whole demise was because they became overconfident, hubris, if you will. This is what, in my opinion, caused Pearl's demise.
First, the ally situation. They were betrayed by Etho last session, yes, but I think they really shot themselves in the foot by not trying to make ammends with Cabin after getting back at Etho themselves. Maybe It was pride, or maybe it was just bitterness, but them showing hostility and baring their teeth and remaining ally-less definitively wasn't an smart plan. But maybe, they thought they could afford such a risk. They had lifes to spare, Pearl had lives to spare, so what if she loose a few? They started to act around carelessly, grian giving suggestions and plans without much thought, which caused Pearl to lose her first three lifes directly or indirectly. But before they could really process that loss and what it meant, they witnessed Ren's death , aand they were back in that high. They inmediately went to the others, as Grian suggested, and he didn't even flinch at the sight of a grave with their name on it. They shrugged it off, and didn't notice just how suspicious that Skizz, someone is actively going against them, is suddenly praising them and stroking their ego. They didn't notice the massive skynet over their heads, and they definitively didn't notice that people were moving strangely and that Skizz was the only person talking with them.... until they did. Because they died. Pearl was on red now, and instead of playing it safe, trying to back-out and replan before going head-in into conflict again, they inmediately started to egg her on to go get vengance for them. They had a "weapon" now, a very sharp and skilled one, and Grian hates being on the backfoot. So he couldn't rest, couldn't stay still until Jimmy, someone he had underestimated, was buried six feet undergroud, so he could feel like the king of the hill again. So instead of doing the reasonable thing, they let emotion take over and inmediately went on the offensive on everyone, making people even more wary of them. Then, their base got griefed, fueling Grian's anger even more at the blatant disrespect even when Pearl tried to see the bright side, which led to the last idea that caused Pearl's end:
"Go invisible, and shot him down." They left Pearl alone, to go distract the others, sure, but they left Pearl, a very unstable and impulsive red, alone and vulnerable, with no one to back her up if things went south, with a really risky mission. Why? Because Pearl is Pearl. She's the one with the highest stadistics of the whole server. She's a power house. She's a cannon. There's no possible way for her to be permakilled by Jimmy of all people. So even if letting your red go hunt alone is usually a bad idea, which is something grian knows, he still sends her away in a mission, one that they know is really risky. Or at least, they would realize it if it wasn't Pearl. Because if someone can pull it off, it's Scarlet Pearl, right? Until she didn't, because she isn't The Scarlet pearl anymore, and Grian and Gem had to process the fact that their "cannon", that their moon, just had gotten permakilled by someone they didn't even consider a threat at the start of this episode. As such, their overconfidence, and Grian's reckless suggestions and plans, and maybe even the hubris of believing that the sun wouldn't eclipse the moon and consume it with it's curse, caused their team to fall apart.
How Joel is gonna feel next session while trying to protect Jimmy from whatever shenanigans Grian and Gem concoct:
