A Confined Space
Home is defined as “a family living together in one building” A confined space where, in my case, The mother, the father, the sons, the daughter, One son’s crazy girlfriends’, the uncle, And the father’s old friends stay. A confined space where, in my case, Love from the mother had shined through From all of the turmoil that the father had Put us in. A confined space where, in my case, Terrors of loud yelling, screaming, and banging, Were trapped behind the son’s hands As they covered the daughter’s fragile ears.
A confined space where, in my case, The son grew up and left to start his own family And for the daughter to protect the mother from heartaches And headaches A confined space where, in my case, The father tried to find himself through religion, But not really. A confined space where, in my case, The mother found herself through religion, Really.
A confined space where, in my case, The daughter had to grow up faster Than she should have had to. A confined space where, in my case, The daughter didn’t think it was all bad. A confined space where, in my case, If the walls could talk, they’d be screaming Just as the father did Just as the mother did Just as the sons did Just as the daughter did
