oh my god there are so many books to read and instruments to learn and languages to speak and poems to write and oranges to eat and ideologies to study and songs to sing and films to watch and people to kiss and
i hope the pain eases. i hope your burdens grow lighter. i hope faith finds you, be it in prayer, in sunlight, in the voice of someone who loves you. i hope love reaches you often. i hope the mornings grow gentler. i hope you never run out of reasons to stay hopeful.
L. V., i hope you're happy but i'll look away if it's not with me [inspired by @luminote]
oh someone told me something useful yesterday. she said sheâs been thinking about her tbr less as an overwhelming list of books she Must Read and more like sheâs cultivating a wine cellar. making a rich collection that will provide the perfect thing when needed. a bottle will get uncorked when the time is right
Someone once said to me, âI hope the pain eases soon.â It struck me as the purest blessing that had ever been offered over my head - I hope the pain eases soon. Itâs so gentle, so kind, so hopeful. So to everyone whoâs hurting: I see how hard youâre trying, and I hope your pain will ease soon.
the art of making it matter
light a candle when you work. put on lipstick for the grocery store. play that song that makes you feel like you're in a coming-of-age montage. take the long way home. write love letters to no one. read poetry out loud to your plants. the secret isn't that life is inherently romanticâit's that you can MAKE it romantic by paying attention, by adding ceremony to the mundane, by refusing to let a single ordinary day pass unloved.
âNo one is coming to save you.â I disagree ! I believe many people made up of many small moments come to save pieces of you , even if just briefly. The mentor who believed in you . The friend who said theyâre proud of you. The family member that makes you laugh . The random person who held the door for you out of nothing but kindness. The teacher who took extra time to help you understand. The person who smiled at you when you walked into a store. The little kid who looks up to you. The person who randomly complimented you. Being âsavedâ isnât about being whisked away and all your hardships gone, itâs about the people and things that remind you life is not all hardships, it is kindness, love, gentleness, softness, care, thoughtfulness. It is many moments made up of your lifetime that keeps you going and showing you the world is still beautiful, and will always be. Despite.
Someone said âThe slow burn of becoming yourselfâ and I think that might be one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. Itâs such a good reminder of how much it takes, how much character development, how much change, and beauty and courage it takes to reach your soul and I hope no one ever gives up on becoming themselves because itâs a never ending journey that only gets better.
my biggest desire: to be seen
my biggest fear: to be seen
Sylvia Plath Letter to her mother 24 February 1956
âwhat are you doing this weekendâ i am going to fantasy land. i am hiding under the covers in bed. i am making things up. i am contemplating events that didnt happen. i am talking to fake people. i am listening to my tunes. i am envisioning scenarios
Sending love to those with high-functioning depression. Just because you carry it well doesnât mean itâs not heavy.
studio ghibli romances be like mmm what if we didnât kiss, but instead both spiritually matured as people because we met each other
