Nabil C. Faltas - Endeavors of the International Finance Corporation
Deceased financial professional Nabil C. Faltas dedicated the majority of his career to assisting the World Bank Group on its mission to end poverty around the globe. Prior to his passing, Nabil C. Faltas served as chief of special operations for the International Finance Corporation. A multilateral development bank, the International Finance Corporation contributes to the World Bank Group's mission of alleviating poverty and promoting the open market. Possessing more than US$77.5 billion in assets and generating a 1.3% return on assets in 2013, the International Finance Corporation provides loans, consultants, and technical support to companies in developing countries. More than 180 countries belong to this organization. Every year, the International Finance Corporation engages in numerous projects. In late March 2014, it finalized an equity investment with Philippine Resources Savings Banking Corporation. Amounting to US$14.4 million, this deal allows the rural commercial bank to better fund small to mid-sized businesses throughout the region. In exchange for a stake in the financial institution, the International Finance Corporation will provide capital, which includes equity and long-term funding; access to its experts; and advice on best practices in rural banking and corporate governance.
