What is make up?

What does it mean to be a make up artist...

To feel a vibration, energy, a connection.

To be fluid and free to create....

The researching, pulling references, being able to translate it into your own creation.

Being exposed to all kinds of stimulus which in return help to create a look.

Who invented make up?...

Where did it all begin?...

The question still remains

Scientists agree that it is impossible to know how long make up has been around for.

As early as 4000 B.C Egyptians were already pushing looks using materials such as malachite, red ochre, kohl, and henna to design make up.

From Egyptian Kings and Queens to today’s modern society Make up has played an unbelievable role being used for obvious cosmetic reasons but also for health and protection.

kohl was believed to repel flies and ward off infections, among other things.

As a result make up became a source of personal power.

Make up can empower the next generation showcasing all forms of creativity proving that there are no boundaries.

Koffee’s Makeup evolved whilst referencing looks from many different eras.

This look could be referred to as a fresh 2019 Egyptian look.

It’s clean beauty, subtle but at the same time ostentatious with its glimpses of gold known only to royalty in those ancient times.

To create this look I have experimented with different light reflecting products including gold leafing.

This is the beauty of makeup having the freedom to create as you wish.
