The chimera’s ears twitched forward as he sighed in contentment. He didn’t know why people wanted to pet him, but right now he didn’t care. Affection was unheard of in the basement, especially for the master’s pet. It felt… nice.
"Awe, how cute." Yui grins, petting the chimera. "And your ears move, too!" She coos, bending down to get a look at the younger boy’s face. The detective uses her free hand to tug on her own hair, a nervous habit she picked up, she bows her head in greeting.
Komaeda kept his own head bowed to hide blush creeping across his cheeks. It was degrading, really, but wasn't that what he deserved? Accepting this thought, the boy began to purr. Right, it was degrading, but it brought him the despair that he desperately sought. The realization was despairingly glorious. "Hah, thanks. Master wanted me to have very feline components, along with slight characteristics of a snake and goat."

Kotone gently pet the chimaera-boy, stroking his hair. "Whoaaaa..." ((sorrowssavinggrace))
Komaeda tensed, but let out a sigh of resignation. Who was he to tell someone that they could not touch him? His tail hissed quietly before he bowed his head and allowed the girl to continue petting him. After he had relaxed enough, the boy even began to purr a bit and nuzzle against her hand.
//Headcanon that Ko accidentally makes cat noises and gets really frustrated with himself bc hes trying to be all sinister and he ends up purring like a tiny kitten
"Do you ever feel like there are three separate parts of you that don't get along, but you know they have to work together so that you can function properly? I know I do."
Nanami had been quiet most of the day, watching the occasional person walk by. What is there really to say to anyone. Except ………………… for them ……….. All of a sudden, Komaeda was at the front of her cage. His figure as despair-inducing as always. After a few seconds of computing what was going on, Nanami turned towards Komaeda.
"………………………………………. Komaeda ……………………. It is you …….."
"Heh, yeah it is me. I hope you don't mind that I'm coming in," the chimera boy stated flippantly as he unlocked her cell and slunk closer to her. "I wanted to come have a chat with you since Hinata-kun became so boring after his experiment. He won't even talk to me anymore." Komaeda pouted and circled the girl, scoping out her disfigurements. "What have they done to you?"

The noise of the tail. She could hear it. Oh god, what was she doing? She felt terrified, as she continued walking, the pitter patter of her own light feet bothering her. Too loud, she’d think. Much too loud. If her eyes hadn’t been sown shut, she would have had tears prickling at her violet orbs that didn’t hurt like h e l l. But her eyes WERE stitched shut, and those tears stung like knives. Maybe if she continued thinking like this, then she could drown out the loud noises in her mind. The heartbeat of the chimera hybrid, her own heartbeat, the swish of his tail, her footsteps— it all came together in a chaotic melody that sounded wretched to her ears. Oh, how she wished that the bodies noises were sweet and soothing. Timidly, she continued walking. Maybe… Maybe Komaeda hadn’t heard her. That’s what she hoped, at least. Maybe she could get farther this time. I mean, her attempts to escape usually never went farther than going to the edge of her door, where she was spooked away by the noises of light conversation, so she’d back up to the back of her cell, and whisper ever so softly to the Imposter. But now, she had gotten much farther than she had actually hoped to. And she was scared.
With extensive knowledge of his fellow experiments came certain instincts that could alert Komaeda to exactly which student was out wandering. Maizono ticked, Ishimaru clunked, Asahina and Souda both splashed, but this wanderer was much more subtle. They stepped lightly, almost as if they were afraid to make any noise.
Aha.
The chimera pressed himself into the shadows against the far wall of his cell and slunk forward. He was not trying to sneak up on the girl, merely greet her without frightening her too badly.
"Hello, Mioda-san," Komaeda purred, "is there something I can help you with?"
What a despair inducingly boring situation this was. As long as the chimera hybrid remained in his cell, he would perpetually experience the despair that they had put the other students through... but if he were to let himself free and wander as he so itched to do, he could spread even more despair to the other students. His face split into a grin at the thought. Yes, after he had robbed his fellow experiments of their hope, he could finally experience the true despair that the doctor had taught him to seek.
With long, confident strides, Komaeda made his way to the iron-barred door of his cell. He studied the lock for a moment. It proved to be no concern as he easily unlocked it with one of his stone-sharpened claws. Once in the dimly lit corridor, the inhuman boy took in his surroundings. There seemed to be fifteen cells on either side. Strategically speaking, Nanami would have been in the cell right next to him. His tailed whipped in excitement as he prowled closer and peered inside.
"Oh Nanami-san, I've come to pay you a visit," the chimera purred.
"Hehe, hello everyone. Did you miss me? Of course not. Why would any of you miss such a vile creature as myself...?
"..."
"I've got it! I want to do an experiment of sorts! If you did miss me, would any Dangan Lab AU friendly blogs please reblog this post? Not that I'm expecting much, of course..."
10:01 PM
"Is that frying butter I smell? Heh, I guess that means that there is at least one other student left after all."

Footsteps. Well, that was certainly rare. So rare, in fact, that he almost couldn’t recognize the noise. It had been a year since he had heard anything, let alone sounds of life in the damp basement. At least he thought it had been a year. He had kept claw-gouged tallies around the walls of his cell based on how often his collar injected his chemicals. One dose every three hours, eight doses a day, his wall was covered in what looked like at this point meaningless scratches. So many days spent in this sweet despair. The chimera hybrid studied his numbers before his attention was drawn back to the footsteps. Right. Life. Here. His tail swung side to side in gleeful anticipation. Perhaps it was another student that had finally come out of hiding and was fully susceptible to the despair that he so direly needed to spread.
