Very Hockney
I knew I was gay since I was about 5 years old. Like every other young LGBT child I mastered the art of the closet and became an everyday actor. My biggest regret about coming out was not doing it soon enough! Unfortunately, I never got a chance to share my true self with my father before he passed of a drug overdose. A few months before he passed, I pushed him away and came out to everyone I knew but him. I blamed myself and had guilt that he never got to know me for who I really was. Why was I not courageous enough to do it sooner? Did he know already? Was I afraid of what he would think or did I not care enough? From then on, I live my life confidently doing things I never thought I’d do in hopes that I never regret anything else again. He always wanted more for me than what he could provide and always wanted me to move to NYC to make my dreams a reality. Here’s to 2018! A year of living life to the fullest and no longer caring what others will think of you!! (at Rochester, New York)
