thank you for liking this!! 🩵 god i was so giddy and happy when i drew that, they’re such a delight and i love them. here’s a little bonus - my very initial sketch of them, i originally had gojo chasing (and catching) geto across the canvas ^^

do you have any speedpaints of your art process?

yes! here’s one that i think is helpful and not too “distracted.”

it’s pretty straightforward: rough wobbly sketch > better sketch > cleaner sketch/line art (if needed) > silhouette (for readability) > color blocking > shadows via halftones. this art in particular i use negative space as highlights so the coloring is even more sparse.

there’s a part where i put in a box-figure ref to check the proportions of the art i drew based from it. i generally input reference photos (my own or stock images) if i’m having a hard time with a body part (for example, tracing very specific hand placement or a foreshortened angle). or to check if my drawing is proportional to the ref. i don’t recommend tracing full body (or majority) from a ref, bc it comes out very stiff—but copying then pushing it, or changing one or more parts of it, is what i tend to do so it’s at least a little different.

thank you, i had a LOT of fun drawing those kitties—or I mean i have a lot of fun drawing stsg in general and I hope it shows but their cat versions are such good SHAPES it tickles something in my art brain ><

I don’t have a red bubble at the moment, just an inprnt, though i’d love to make a sticker sheet! i can put some up in red bubble in the future.

I have a question, do you clean up your sketches or do the lineart? I love the “messy” effect on your art it’s so lovely 💖

hi anon!! i don’t clean up my sketches, it just feels like continuous polishing but i generally don’t do clean line art unless that’s the style i’m going for ^^ i love the energy of sketches and a lot of my current art style depends on the roughness and brokenness and variation of the lines.

a lot of this is carried over from being a pencil and ink artist - and my tendency to leave parts of my art uncolored is carried over from my watercolor background, where you leave the paper white for the brightest highlights. it’s part of the “messiness” or “sketchy” / “undone” feeling i have in my digital art as well!
