honestly, I'd also settle for some sort of recruiting flashback. We saw clips of others being scouted in such random spots, so it's not train station exclusive. I need to know where and how they picked up Namgyu so bad! like, was it at the club??? imagine going to your local hotspot and seeing one of the workers playing a child's game with some briefcase wielding weirdo; that almost feels a little less strange than the train station???

assuming u already saw my vague ass thoughts on it, but damn icl it was a bit disappointing. BUT. what wasn't disappointing were all the delicious namgyu scenes lmfao... to this DAY i am still saving edits to my phone. he looked gorgeous the whole time and was funny as fuck. dare i say.... carried?
quite sad that we didn't get anything really in terms of a backstory. i appreciated the ONE club mention where he talked about how he got thanos hella free drinks, but i feel like that was really it.... my dearest namgyu... i suppose namgyu nation will just have to continue hallucinating his backstory (all good with me i love imagining things)
also omfg i love imagining him getting recruited.. it's canon that the recruiter stalks people for months before the fact (iirc, i'm trusting this one tweet i saw online bc i haven't watched s1 in a long time, which is where i imagine this fact would be drawn from), so like..... he was definitely watching namgyu. i have my own thoughts for his backstory, but i'm pretty sure jaewon confirmed that namgyu pretty much had no friends before entering the squid game (need to rewatch, but i swear he said something along these lines in one of his new interviews. i forget if i read it in the naver articles or if it was the spoken one with noon company, but I DIGRESS), so lol.. imagine being the recruiter and watching this friendless loser do nothing but go to and from work while freaking out over his extremely fucked crypto wallet that keeps on dipping lower and lower.. bonus points because no one seems to really fuck with him or care about him. perfect dude to pick for the games, because if he dies? who's gonna remember him or go looking? i like to imagine that the recruiter challenged him one night just a few blocks away from the club or in some piss-scented alleyway right next to the club. maybe namgyu is a little more stressed out / fucked up than usual, too, who knows, and he's pissy, trying to push the recruiter away, telling him to fuck off so he can get in his car and go home. but then the slight promise of cash he gets from their exchange is enough to make him go crazy bc fuckkk he finally has an out...? maybe??
