So about the free 100 Demon Vouchers given to new players
Let me first start by saying I'm an F2P (free-to-play) player whose been playing since early April. I get my vouchers through the following. I also hope this serves as a guide to help other players, especially F2P ones, in strategizing in getting their dream cards.
Pop Quiz event prizes (first row with 10 vouchers)
***99 DP sale, this starts to appear once you reach level 50 and will continue to do so for every level up from then on. 5 DV, so a total of 198 DP is spent for 10 DV)***
Otaku Boot Camp (1 for 1900x Henry)
Single purchase via raven (1 for 45 feathers)
Occasional special nightmare event (5 DV when you reach 30x summon)
So over all, I would have a total of 20-25 DV by the end of the Pop Quiz event, depending whether or not I choose to spend them, which I only do one 10x summon for every event.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, here are my personal thoughts about the free 100 DV situation.
I'm very neutral about it. I'm not angry as some players are (it personally doesn't bother or affect me), but I do understand and agree it's unfair for the older players, most especially those who are also P2P (pay-to-play), to not receive anything when they've already spent their money and dedication in playing OM! much longer than the new players. While I can see this as a marketing strategy to attract new players to continue playing, it's just as equally important to keep your older customers also satisfied in order keep your following and not let it fluctuate. It's already becoming more difficult to keep up with the main story and hard mode and leveling up cards, and with how hard it is to get URs/UR+s, the fact that only a very small group is getting 100 DVs can be discouraging.
But at the same time, OM! is not only an otome, but also a gacha game. I get that it's frustrating to not get URs/UR+s, but this is a game in which gambling is another factor to playing. It's totally up to the players' decision and personal responsibility whether or not to spend their money, but even then, that doesn't automatically mean there's a higher chance in getting their dream cards by doing so. It would be really cool of the devs to slightly increase the chances on getting them but in the end, it's really about getting them by luck.
I think what ultimately bothers me about it is the fandom's behavior. There is a fine line between providing civil, valid and constructive criticism vs sending vile and hateful messages, in which the latter I see is a common pattern within the fandom (the Mammon situation being the worst one I've seen). Whenever drama occurs, the OM! fandom is very hostile. Often times, it's really hard for me to determine whether the reasoning behind the outrage is justified or overboard, hence why I find it so scary to interact with and tend to just stay away from it.
In the end, I'm honestly torn on having an opinion.
***EDIT: I made a mistake in the 99 DP Flash Sale. It starts appearing on the following levels: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52, 54, 56, 58. Level 58 is when it stays permanent. Also, when your super close to levelling up, make sure to have it triggered by earning EXP through tasks.***
EDIT 2: Someone has mentioned that if your super close to levelling up, but you complete it through gaining EXP from daily missions/tasks instead, it WILL NOT trigger the 99 DP Flash Sale to appear. I actually had this happen not too long ago, so make sure to level up through tasks in story mode, hard mode and Pop Quiz events.
