Mokona = King of Red Lions (talking boat)
Can also communicate through the bunny type body when crew is on land.
Fei Wang Reed is looking for Sakura and is capturing girls around her age
Each island = different world
Last two islands Fai lived on were cursed/destroyed
Syaoran is on a quest to retrieve Sakura
He finds his way to Yuuko’s island
You can only get to Yuuko’s island if you are in need of something/help
Tomoyo was also taken so Kurogane is on a quest to get her back, and meets Syao at Yuuko’s
Fai is a spy for Fei Wang Reed and gets to Yuuko’s under the pretense of searching for Chii
Yuuko gives them the ship Mokona to use
Kurogane and Fai are the sages (though they travel with Syao and Sakura throughout majority of the thing as opposed to what it’s like in the game)
Kurogane’s ancestor was the past Dragon Sage
Fai and Yuui are the original Phoenix Sages from when the land under the ocean was above the water
o They lived on in the temple even after the world went under
o A monster was sent to destroy them and it eventually overtook them
o Fei Wang Reed then personally went to their temple to get as much information out of them as he could
o In a mock form of mercy he decides to let one of them live (“Only one mind you, or else you two could prove to be a nuisance in the times to come”)
o They both chose for the other to live but it was manipulated so that Fai would be the one to die, leaving Yuui to believe that he betrayed his brother.
o Yuui was kicked out of the temple while Fai was left to die
o Eventually, Ashura comes by and picks him up from the island (Yuui chooses to introduce himself as Fai)
o He’s taken to Celes, where he grows and attempts to ignore his past
o He’s manipulated into being FWR’s spy once Celes is destroyed by a curse
o Fai has become powerful enough to be the Phoenix Sage by himself but doesn’t acknowledge so until he’s confronted by the real Fai’s ghost in the temple
Fuuma is a postman and Seishirou is a treasure hunter
Subaru and Kamui are mermaid type creatures.
Touya would have gone to save Sakura himself but he is chief of his island and couldn’t leave
Fai, Syao and Kuro aren’t sure where the girls have been taken so they have to go island to island until they get a lead
None of the islands are all that big on the surface but have many hidden caves and such
The girls are found but it’s apparent that there is more evil at work than initially thought
Sakura was actually kidnapped by an ally of Yuuko’s to keep her safe from FWR
Yuuko didn’t tell Syao where Sakura was originally b/c she needed to test him to confirm he is strong enough to protect her
Kuro continues to journey with Sakura and Syaoran after Tomoyo is returned home
Fai does too and he recognizes that Sakura is the reincarnate of the princess he served in the world below the sea (he feels guilty for betraying her)
Syao is the reincarnate of Princess Sakura’s personal knight/hero. His powers are slowly being reawakened
As the reincarnated princess Sakura has this ultimate power sleeping inside of her that FWR either wants to take for himself or destroy (that’s why he was kidnapping girls)
They are sent off the find certain items to prove they are worthy and such
Fai’s hesitant to do anything with the gods b/c of his past as a sage
The item that needs to be blessed/prayed for by the Sages to reawaken Sakura is a feather
Fai may be outed as a spy before his temple
KuroFai will be a thing
