Where Water and Air Meet
Jim smiled at her reasoning. Not only did she seem to understand how he felt about it but she also didnât make a big deal out of it. Normally people would get sad or be taken back by this bit of information and then the situation would turn awkward. But Melody just wanted to reassure him and it worked. âThanks Mel.â He said as they came to a stop. He didnât notice that they had talked and walked for so long and it was getting dark. âWhy? I bet the beach is beautiful under the moonlight.â
Melody bit her lip, looking down. âUm..â She then looked up âYou are wrong actually. The beach is really not beautiful under the moonlight. Itâs quite creepy actually. And there usually guys here with knifes who want to hurt people for apparently no reasonâ She was amazed at how quickly she was able to come up with this lie. But it would be worth if he fell for it. She would never let him know about who she truly was..
Jim raised an eyebrow at her explanation. âWhy would a group of people come to the beach just to wreak havoc and why hasnât anyone done something about it if it has become a problem?â Gangs could happen but this village looked like a nice place, one that didnât look like it had trouble with such things. What she told him seemed kind of farfetched to say the least. He just met Melody, but he didnât think she would lie to him. Even if she was lying then why would she lie about this? It didnât make sense.
