Deliciously smoked chicken wings with a sweet and spicy apricot glaze, cooked to perfection in a Traeger smoker.
Ingredients: 3 lbs chicken wings. 1 cup apricot preserves. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar. 2 tbsp hot sauce. 1 tsp garlic powder. 1 tsp onion powder. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. Salt and pepper to taste. Wood pellets for Traeger smoker.
Instructions: Preheat Traeger smoker to 225F. In a saucepan, combine apricot preserves, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook over medium heat until well combined and slightly thickened. Place chicken wings on a baking sheet and season with salt and pepper. Brush the apricot glaze over the wings, ensuring they are evenly coated. Place wood pellets in the Traeger smoker's hopper and start the smoker. Smoke the wings for 2 hours at 225F, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165F, turning occasionally and basting with the apricot glaze. Increase the temperature to 375F for the last 15-20 minutes to crisp up the skin. Remove wings from the smoker and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Optional: Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or green onions before serving.
