      「 ♔ 」 The flower festival sounded like a good way to enjoy herself and to relax, and so the Magi had gone to the event at the earliest chance. As expected, the large amount of color and the fine smelling flowers had been just what she needed, and Scheherazade had settled in without much trouble-- especially when they served herbal tea, Scheherazade really did love tea. Of course, standing in front of the counter made her seem like she was waiting to order, not for an already ordered cup. Realizing this, she turned to the person queuing next to her with a tilt of her head.

     ❝... I’m sorry, were you looking to order something ? I’ve already placed my order, so feel free to go ahead of me.❞

            ━ ` ★ ⋱ »  The flowers scattered about the area symbolized peace and harmony, a direct contrast the young teenager yelling and creatng a ruckus. Tighly gripping the ball in hsi hand, he threw the ball with all of his strength. The ball flew toards the cans and successfully landed against them, but failed to topple all of them off. "Fuck! I’ll get all of you damn cans if it’s the last thing I’ll do!" There was no way he was going to lose to a bunch of damn cans.

          「 ♔ 」 The loud yelling had been the first sign that one familiar to her had shown up at the festival, one most certainly not here for peace and quiet. Seeing him trying to win the game was... interesting, but Scheherazade doubted that was how to do it. ❝I'd suggest aiming for the center of the tower myself, Taisou. If the middle one falls, then the rest should follow.❞ Because she obviously knows how to play.

She was amazing, this woman. That’s what Haruka had decided.

Her beauty was one thing — mature, elegant, he could only dream of one day being able to put a face like hers to paper. As it was, he just wasn’t good enough… but maybe he could be, some day. But her kindness, that was another: she was gentle, optimistic and radiant in a way he hoped to be for his friends. She was both an inspiring and comforting presence.

But it was her quiet response that one him over — how she felt no one should be forgotten. It made Haruka stop and stare at her for a moment, surprised and shocked and… eased, let go from a worry he kept tucked away most days. Even though they were strangers, even though he knew nothing about her, she gave off that feeling. She made him feel like he wouldn’t be forgotten.

And that was something amazing.

'I— think so too!' the boy agreed, a little over-zealous in how loudly he reacted. He'd clenched his fists, half-rising out of his seat to speak. What followed was… a healthy amount of sheepishness, and then sudden worry when he realised his sketchbook had slid to the ground. 'Oh, thank goodness…' he murmured, settling back into his seat with the mostly-unharmed picture. 'Um, sorry… I just… I really think you're right. Everybody should be remembered. No matter what.'

But there was one other thing, something else that gave Haruka pause. His lips thinned as he re-organised his pencils, brushing stray dirt and dust from his sketchbook thoughtfully. The woman next to him, she seemed nothing short of perfect, and yet…

'— miss?' he started.

'Do you really have a son? B-but you look really young!'

     「 ♔ 」 Like she had suspected, her words had some impact on him and from his reaction, it seemed she had easied whatever worries lingered in his mind. For a child to worry about something which such meaning, something related to death and memory, it could only worry her somewhat, but at the very least if such worries were appeased for the time being, it could allow her to further investigate what could spark such concerns in the first place.

      She didn't agree with the fact that children should burden themselves with the matter of death.

      But, the glow in his eyes upon her words was something she could enjoy and she giggled as he got excited, his pad falling to the floor before being clumisly plucked back up. His emotions seemed to get the better of him, be it for better or for worse, and she had to smile at his embarrasment. He was pleased that they shared opinions, even if it stemmed deeper than just meaningful thoughts, and she was glad she had happened upon such a good child-- good in every sense of the word.

      ❝I can tell you agree, you're very expressive even if you don't notice it. Before you even speak, you can tell how you feel from how your expression shifts. But, that isn't necessarily a bad thing-- it means you are quite the honest person.❞ She spoke softly, but her smile was still there. ❝But, I'm glad you agree none the less. Some like to brush off others who have joined with the rukh-- who have passed on, I mean.❞ It was easy to forget she was speaking to one from another world, a world without the rukh.

      The comment on her age was a little unexpected though, with the topic at hand that is. Many have told her and continue to tell her of her youthful looks but the truth remains that she is much older than most she speaks to. It is still a compliment though, in a sense.

      ❝I do have a son, actually. His name is Titus, and he is probably around your age, Haruka.❞ Physically anyway, though he was just as smart as an adult. Her pride and joy, truly. ❝Thank you for the compliment though, I have many tricks up my sleeve to retain my youthful appearance.❞

          « ♥ » —▸ Hanayo was shocked when the end of stick jolted into her line of vision and bumped the canister into her outreaching palm. But who had helped her? The heels of her trainers hit the tile floor, hair bouncing witht he movement as she turned to the person. She was surprised she had to look down a bit. She as an average height according to her school group but she knew that she was rather short overall. 

          “Thank you,” Hanayo’s quiet voice broke through the air after being lectured. Her body bent at a ninety degree angle as she quickly bowed to the blond, “I thought I could manage it on my own. I appreciate your help!” She blurted out rather quickly.

         「 ♔ 」There was evident surprise in the girl's eyes for a moment upon the noticable difference in height, though much to Scheherazade's pleasure, it was only a few inches. Most likely, this girl was used to being shorter than peers. But, regardless of her height, she spoke gently and with polite words. Always something the Magi found pleasing in youths in this city. With such a bleak situation, some found it hard to remain cheerful. The fact that some could always brought her some happiness, if even just a little.

          ❝It was a pleasure to assist you, so don't worry about it too much. Your gratitude is all I require.❞ She paused for a moment, glancing around. ❝But, if you are to continue looking for goods then perhaps I should accompany you, I fear you might run into something high up again.❞

            ━ ` ★ ⋱ »  ”Even if ya rub a million beauty shit on your face, you can’t look this young.” It was simply not possible, unless she ripped the face of a young girl and sewed it onto her own. Now that he thought about it, the latter seemed very likely. Ya don’t have any marks on your face do you?” It would be illogical to most people to jump to such a ridiculous assumption, but it made sense to the bandit. "Well, whatever your reason it, quit it. It pisses me off." Due to his past experiences, the redhead’s feelings towards a small smile was complicated; but there was no way in hell he was going to explain it to the blond. Walking directly behind the kid, he was careful to maintain distance between them to avoid any unnecessary conversations.

            Confusion crossed his features when she introduced herself. The hell was up with her name? "She… Sche… Haira… The hell kind of name is this?" There was no way he was going to be able to pronounce her name without making a mistake. The bandit was far too indolent to make any more attempts. "I’ll just call ya Sche an you just call me Taisou." When she mentioned food, he immediately rushed down the row and grabbed the boxes. As inconsiderate as usual, he grabbed as much as he could carry. They were all, as expected, extremely unhealthy snacks.

         「 ♔ 」 As it was with others she had happened across in this city, her name caused problems which she could not understand. In her opinion, her name was not that difficult, and others from her world found it quite simple too. It was only here that she had experienced difficulties with its pronounciation, being given new titles such as Hera or now, "Sche", and while she couldn't say she disliked them, it was still a little odd. But, before she could comment on his name, Taisou, he was off running in the aisles of the store and all Scheherazade could do was shake her head and sigh.

          His running around the squeaky surface could be heard as she plucked up necessities, tea, vegetables, fruit and some fresh fish. They would do to make a good meal. But, before she could pay at the "checkout", as she had been told it was called, she had a boy to attend to, and when he ran to a stop in front of her, another sigh came out. Really, this boy was troublesome, wasn't he? Scheherazade had always liked the company of children for their innocence and simple views of the world, mothering them became second nature, but he defied all the values a child should have-- making her extremely curious.

          Eyeing the goods in his arms and then moving her emerald gaze to the basket in her hand, she shook her head and held up two fingers on her spare hand. ❝I can afford two of those, not as many as you are holding. Pick the two you'd like the most Taisou, and I will buy them for you. I have my own meals to attend to as well, as you can see.❞

                 ”You are currently in Sector Three, although to your fortune you are                near enough to the hivestem— ah, that is, the housing building that should                you need a temporary place to stay, someone there should be able to loan                you their couch… or something. I would not recommend attempting to               continue on to your assigned domicile at this time of night on your own. It’s               rough out here.”

         「 ♔ 」❝You speak strange words, but I understand that there is a danger to this area from stories spread around the city. However, be it as it may, I would much prefer to return to my own home rather than to impose on a stranger here. It wouldn't be something I'd feel comfortable in doing, you see. Could you please direct me in the direction of Sector One? My eyesight isn't all that it used to be, and the darkness seems to bare some problems.❞

Regardless of their status, huh. 

A pit within his stomach tightened — a fleeting feeling he had no longer any need for, something he had long tossed aside. The vivid and hidden recollection of his exile, a memory that was simply words fading upon coarse parchment at this point. But her gaze and warm words elicited a unique comfort that sought to soothe those old wounds, much like his King had plenty of times previously — and he vaguely wondered if this were some magical ability of hers.

Awkwardly would he shuffle his feet from the other side of the table while deciding the polite words with which to respond, taking a small sip of the soft-tasting tea.

"Still, for someone like me to be granted an audience with you… alone, even." And anything he said wrong would reflect poorly on His Majesty, surely. But Sharrkan was familiar with such formal situations, despite his behavior off the clock. "It’s quite the privilege. Frankly, I’m… still a bit in awe that this is even happening. Is this form of yours simply an illusion? I find it hard to believe someone as powerful as yourself would be stuck in a foreign land like this. Though if you’re looking for a way to aide us from the outside… I’d be glad to serve as a liaison between you and my King."

     「 ♔ 」He was nervous, there was no denying it, and as much as Scheherazade would like for that to be eased out of the general, she doubted it would happen so soon. Time would only tell if he could relax further, but the tea may help with that. She always found speaking over tea very relaxing. It may be simply her preference, but it had a soothing aspect to it as well.

     ❝I am afraid that isn't the case, I am trapped here much like the others who found themselves here, and while my power may have been useful, it doesn't dwell in me any longer. I am certain you have felt it too, correct? That your power has been limited since arriving here.❞ With magicians, it was their magic and surely with metal vessel users, it was the strength behind their weapon. Of course, that was only a guess, though it seemed rather accurate.

     ❝But, it seems that powers return after staying here for longer periods of time. From what I've heard, the Magi from Kou has already retained his strength. I suppose what I am hoping for is to look after people from our world, so that those from our home land can regain what they have lost to avoid any... unnecessary conflict during the time where some are powerless and some are not. The powers of others here are unknown, so fighting amongst ourselves isn't something I believe to be right when we face something far more great.❞

[✖] ▬ Scheherazade didn’t seem surprised by what he said, so she must be in the same situation, too. In fact, the news she just told him finally answered some questions he had when he first found himself in this place. He was relieved to hear that there was a huge possibility of regaining ones powers.

"How have they regained their powers?" Aladdin asked. Surely those who regained their powers had to do something to regain them. The people behind this ‘experiment’ wouldn’t just carelessly return powers to people they favored. If they did favor some people over others, then what was the point of stealing their powers from them in the first place? "Please, don’t worry about me. I won’t get myself into trouble." He offered her a kind smile.

"Yes, I’m taking good care of myself! I know where my place is, it’s quite nice there. I haven’t really seen much of it, but I plan to!"

"Is it possible to move in with any of them?" He hadn’t known that was the case.

      「 ♔ 」 He really was so new to this city, and providing him with answers was something she felt herself inclined to do. Aladdin was, after all, an important person in regards to shaping their world. If he was to get into trouble here, then it could only mean bad things for the future of their home. Looking after him was easier said than done though, since her home wasn't suitable for taking in a child.

      ❝I cannot say with complete certainty that this is true, but I do believe the longer one dwells in this strange land, the more you recieve in return. Powers taken seem to be one of the gifts they bestow upon you, though it seems to be more so a way to flaunt their strength. I am sure your own magic will return eventually, Aladdin, though I cannot be certain mine will since I'm certain I gave it to Titus.❞

      Saying not to worry did not make it so that Scheherazade would not worry however, and listening in on what he said about his new home, the priestess had rather mixed feelings about his whole situation. Living with strangers did not settle well with her, she'd much prefer him to be in a home with someone he knew.

     ❝Staying with someone you know sounds much better. All you have to do is ask them, you know, and see if they agree to take you in. I think I'm right in thinking a lot of us would be very relieved to have you with someone you trust rather than a stranger.❞

arrives 15 minutes late with starbucks and why the hell is there a dungeon here

It’s been month since Stahl arrived at this place, but he still wasn’t familiar with the city’s layout. Of course, there was the ever-changing sector that challenged it’s habitants every day, but the others ones were just as confusing. He saw it as an opportunity to discover new places - just like this run-down, yet charming looking bookstore. It’s best days were over, the banners stuck to it’s windows so old Stahl couldn’t read them properly. The letters were yellowed, only a few words visible, but not making any sense. 

Apparently, business was still going well seeing how the shop was open, a few muffled voices making their way outside. Perhaps it’s outer appearance drew more customers in? Stahl could only guess. Taking a peek inside, he was greeted by the smell of old books, a smell he loved and had missed. The store wasn’t as shady as the outside made it look - several shelves neatly placed next to each other, stairs right next to the entrance leading to another floor. 

Stahl let his gaze wander, spotting a tiny figure that struggled to reach the top of a shelf. With quick steps the cavalier approached, fetched the desired item in the woman’s stead. “Is this the one you wish to get?”, the man asked, taking a quick look at it’s cover. “Oh, I actually know this one, it is a brilliant read!”

     「 ♔ 」 Being disadvantaged when it came to her height wasn't news to Scheherazade, but it came with many problems. Back home, she rarely had to face said problems since others were always so willing to serve the priestess, but now she was not in her country and not a figure of authority. That wasn't very startling to the woman, not at all, she hadn't always been so powerful, but it was quite troublesome to have to stretch to reach things-- and that didn't always work either. The predicament she was in now was one such problem, an annoyance really, though her eyes widened when another hand grabbed the book.

      With it suddenly in her hand, and the smiling face of the man looking down at her, Scheherazade nodded for a moment before offering a smile back. Meeting well mannered people in this town was always such a pleasure. ❝Yes, thank you for your help. I'm not sure what I would have done if you had not come along.❞ Bowing her head again as a sign of gratitude, she looked at the cover with her smile still lingering, stroking the spine with her finger.

This person's smiling face reminded her of a soldier under her, of her King Vessel in a way, but she chose not to mention it. ❝Is that so? I have not yet read any works by the author, but the cover piqued my interest. If you say it is such a good read, then I look forward to reading it-- having a review beforehand is always a good way to know you will enjoy the book. But, you have helped me regardless. Is there annything I can do for you to return the favour?❞

            ━ ` ★ ⋱ »  The tender smile that bloomed on her youthful visage caused his lifeless eyes to slightly lit up, shocked by her response to him. Even after gaining the knowledge about his bandit ways and standing face to face wth hs unpleasant attitude, she still had the ability to smile at him. There was only one other person who was like this; and he hated him. This was no different. A scowl appeared on his face as he pointed at her. "Don’t go smilin’ and thinking we’re friends pipsqueak." There mere thouhght was revolting to the redhead. "… Yeah and I have 5 arms and eat shit for breakfast everyday." It was rather difficult for him to accept that she truly was an old hag.

            In his eyes, there was no point in being ashamed about skills individuals would generally mark as ‘immoral’. Acts such as killing, stealing and blackmailing were all needed to survive in the harsh era he hailed from after all. Her offer made his devious side light up. A little punk willng to pay for his food? Jackpot. The cogwheels in his brain were already turning and developing a plan that would certainly benefit him and him only. "That sounds better than stealing. I have to put less effort if yer the one buying." Names? Did it even matter? Eh. Whatever. He was willing to knw her name for the sake of his future delicaces.

               「 ♔ 」 The fact that her age wasn't accepted in his eyes wasn't something that came as much of a surprise to Scheherazade. It was to be expected, since the boy seemed like one who only accepted something with absolute proof in its favour, and the Magi was anything but someone who looked their age. While in this city, she had been confused for a child on multiple occasions, and now was no different. ❝A person doesn't smile because they consider themselves friends with the other, you know.❞ But, it seemed he was hooked on the idea of free food regardless of the lack of supposed friendship and with a sigh, she returned to her original plan and began to walk towards the store once more, the unnamed boy obviously in pursuit.

                It wasn't too far a walk, she could even see the store from where they were on the street, a couple of minutes away really. ❝I am Scheherazade, by the way. I may have forgotten to mention it. It is probably wise to know the name of someone who is buying you food.❞ And as she said those words, the store came right into view. A wary glance was thrown in the direction of the boy, who was already deep in thought about food obviously, but leaving that matter alone, the priestess walked into the store and pulled out a nearby, as she was told they were called, shopping basket. ❝Go pick something then. I have to gather a few things myself.❞

Scheher… Schere… Even just trying to process the name threw Haruka for a loop. A conflicted look flitted over his face at the sound of it, though the confused smile he wore suggested he liked it nevertheless. ‘Hera,’ he replied, but — again, something seemed to dissatisfy him. ‘Hera? Mm… Miss Hera,’ is what he decided on, appearing content once he’d bestowed upon her the proper respect. She looked almost the same age as his mom, but… she was older?

Huh.

Her comments on art certainly reflected a sort of wisdom. Haruka returned to them as his attention fell to his sketch, pencil pausing for the first time in a while. ‘… I think the past is important, though.’ That was how he started, a simplistic statement for what was probably going to be a simple argument. He was skilled with his hands, not his words. ‘I don’t like thinking about death, or any of those things… but I think you’re right? With art, um, being like someone’s mark— their personal diary? I guess.’ He laughed a little to sweep away the awkwardness.

'A lot of artists draw so they're not forgotten, right?.' And he himself, he. 'I- I usually say I like drawing to make other people happy? But I think I'm like that, too. It's nice, thinking people will still remember you.' It was nice, but hard to admit; Haruka seemed to have to physically work through the words, like there was some sort of block on him. It was only recently he'd started to think being selfish was okay, too. '— is there anyone like that for you?'

He looked to Scheherazade, smiling, eyes questioning. ‘Artist friends you still remember.’

'Most of my friends don't draw, so…'

               「 ♔ 」 It was evident from his face that her name caused some trouble, so when he managed to accept the shortned version, her smile widened for a moment. Miss Hera sounded a little odd to her, obviously unused to the nickname, but he was a polite child using formalities like that. A good sign of character. Such a boy in a city like this was not right, hopefully he knew how to look after himself. That will do fine, though you don't need to use formalities if you do not wish to, it is up to you.

                But, she should have known better than to speak of death too such a young boy. At the very least, he had taken it well. Her comment on her age was probably what he was concerning himself with overall. It was always amusing to see how people would take such a comment-- some would brush it off as false, and others would just look at her in shock.

                ❝... That's right, exactly right.❞ Scheherazade had to wonder why the topic was difficult for him, but pursing her lips decided not to speak about it, not yet. Answering his question, she decided, was a higher priority. It wasn't like she knew the boy well enough to ask such personal questions anyway. ❝As for those who I remember...❞

                ❝I remember all of them. Forgetting those who have passed before you would be cruel to their memory and to their spirit, so be it few or many, I remember all of them regardless of what impact they had. Many of my old friends were artists, and many continue to crop up, I'm sure that won't change. However, my son is the one who shall remember them now, in my place.❞

Anyone remotely close to Sharrkan would have known how awkward this situation was.

Tanned hands were wrapped tightly around a small tea-cup, steam wafting from the top and into the air with the scent of chamomile as he glanced up and over at the person sitting just across. She seemed at first glance but a normal, blonde-haired child, but her presence told a different story. That presence with which, when beckoned over by her with a light nod, he’d found hard to resist. In looks she seemed near identical to someone he’d gotten a brief, distance glimpse of recently in his home world —

Someone who no doubt deserved a great deal of respect.

"S — surely my King would prove a better candidate for conversation… "

               「 ♔ 」 Others from her world had been reported to have appeared in this city. Some she had chose not to pursue, like the Magi of Kou as well as the King of Sindria. Others, she had chosen to meet. Yunan, Aladdin, Muu-- people she knew, she trusted and had no doubt could rely on during this troublesome time. However, over a cup of tea at a nice cafe she had found, she had decided that perhaps speaking with others would prove to be wise. That is why upon catching eyes with the general, she had motioned him over. Scheherazade had never spoken to the man, but had seen him before on multiple occasions, as she had with many others.

                ❝Relax, General Sharrkan, I chose to speak to you because I wanted to. Anybody is befitting to a conversation, regardless of their status-- especially in this city. It is an odd situation, finding yourself here. I suppose I'd just like to make sure those who deserve concern are taking to it well.❞

                It wasn't like she particularly wanted to see King Sinbad anyway, speaking to his generals would probably prove more fruitful.

                「 ♔ 」 ❝I cannot say that I understand what you mean by "reiatsu", but you are correct when you say I am, as some would say, stronger than I appear. I am not a child, as most would think me as, even if I do not hold the strength I once had. Still, I retain some, enough to tell that you too are no ordinary being, am I correct?❞

[✖] ▬ So it really was Scheherazade. She looked well, like the last time he met her. The war between the Reim Empire and Magnostadt felt like such a long time ago. She still had that same motherly aura, although he wasn’t really sure if that was what motherly felt like. The one time he had ever felt what a ‘mother’ supposedly was, it didn’t feel good. It was like she was trying to get into his head and control him.

But Scheherazade’s presence was calming instead of threatening. He was sure that if he could see the Rukh right now, they would be dancing around her.

"Yes, I’m well. It’s nice to see you again, Lady Scheherazade. I just came to this world recently. I’m surprised to see a lot of familiar faces already."

"It’s kind of distressing, really. I feel like I’ve been robbed of my magic. This place is too… eerie." She probably understood what he meant. Not only he, but Yamu were reduced to just using Borg after all, and not even at its full strength.

He also wanted to ask about Titus, but there was a possibility that he wasn’t even here.

                 「 ♔ 」 After at least a month in the city, his words were not surprising to her, but she felt an instant spark of worry for the boy. He was young, but she had left him on the battlefield during the War as he was strong , a true Magi. Now, he was but a boy, much like she was nothing more than a simple. ❝You're correct... those behind this situation have the ability to rob what is rightfully ours. Be it a Magi, a simple magician or one from a world with powers that differ from our own-- all of it is taken and reduced to a mere slither of its original strength.❞

                 Scheherazade spoke calmly, softly, as not to worry him to much. The boy had seen and known far worse from what she had learned from Yunan, but Aladdin was still a child. ❝But, some from our world have regained what they have lost, some allies and some... not such. You would do well to avoid trouble, Aladdin. Not until your magic returns.❞

                 ❝...You're looking after yourself regardless though, correct? Have you found the place you are staying, or have you moved in with one of those familiar faces you stumbled across?❞

          « ♥ » —▸ A small list of necessities was clutched between slim fingers as Hanayo looked through the grocery store. A shopping basket hung off her arm and there were already two bags of highest quality rice she could afford resting inside. Now she had moved onto the spice isle and she couldn’t quite reach the black pepper that was on the top shelf. Being on her tip-toes did little to help her five foot one inch frame get any closer to her goal.

          “Just… a little… more," she mumbled to herself.
