Jackie was exhausted and hungry. Two things that did not do well with her moods. She wanted nothing more than to get home, eat whatever leftovers were in the fridge and then curl up in her bed and sleep. Unfortunately she knew as soon as she opened the apartment door that she was out of luck on the last two; at least for the time being.
She knew her son well and even though she could only see the back of his head she knew he was both nervous and worried. Jackie dropped her stuff onto the kitchen table and walked slowly into her son’s line of sight. “With what did you act first and think later with this time Nate?”
Nathan almost jumped hearing the door shut, and hearing his mother come into sights, he chuckled nervously, "What? Would I do that?" making shifty glances and looked, before standing up to look at her better, "Mom, we got a gig." figuring he'd take the slow route.
