Are we cheapening our experiences with our dogs because we believe in the mentality of Alpha dog, or Dominant meaning "I make the rules?"
DOG BEHAVIOR
It is what I want to do with my life. I've been very fortunate to have found something that not only interests me, but does good in this world. My name is Marian Cannell, and I work with homeless dogs at a shelter in Austin, Texas that is making waves in the world. We are Austin Pets Alive!, and our goal is to keep Austin at a "no kill" status. No kill, if you are unaware, means keeping 90% of animals that enter the shelter off theĀ euthanasiaĀ list. I do not know where the statistic came from, nor do i care. My job is to wrangle naughty dogs of all sizes, and believe me when I tell you that there is no breed specifics in naughty behavior. This blog is my exploration through a developing world.
