talk to me about autistic naruto ;u;

okay okay okay (alright alright alright) 

autistic naruto who sometimes has trouble focusing so he tends to talk very loudly and flail a lot — the movements and loud noise helps him focus, so he tends to move around a lot because of that. 

autistic naruto who sometimes gets overwhelmed by the loud noises and crowds of konoha so he’ll climb up the hokage monument so that he can just watch and get away from the commotion down below and let his mind wander.

autistic naruto who sometimes (although very rarely) goes nonverbal due to stress. 

autistic naruto who sometimes just likes to talk to Kurama because there’s a sort of pressure or sensation that’s just calming in a way - it’s not like they’re hostile to each other or hate each other or anything, and sometimes Naruto just doesn’t want to talk to anyone but Kurama’s easy enough to read then having to actually try and respond to social cues and speech patterns etc like Naruto and Kurama are more often than not in sync w/ each other so it’s easier for Naruto to convery his thoughts and stuff to Kurama then someone who’s well, not Kurama) 

autistic naruto who sometimes just likes standing in the rain because he likes the pressure of the raindrops falling onto his face and skin, even though sometimes he gets sick afterwards but he doesn’t care. 

autistic naruto who is hesitant at first to stim but then learns to not care what people say about him and he stims a lot more frequently (sakura helps him with that and sometimes they stim together. Kakashi gets them a weighted blanket at one point and that makes their bad days a lot less shitty)

Here they are anyways:

- she’s autistic (they all are lbr) - due to her social anxiety + childhood abuse she’s selectively mute - she was mainly alone in childhood so she’s rlly into cheap comics and video games! (My rationalization on ninja tech is a whole other post but I’m sure they have at least enough for a ds or smth) - she’s trans (canonically) and Tsunade was actually the one to help her with a lot of her transition

- she wears the jacket over her chain mail shirt cause when the wind blows through it it’s Sensory Hell - she stims by rubbing her sleeves and she also does that when she’s anxious so she has to repair the edges a lot - she loves gardening and it was something she and her mother bonded over back when her mother was alive - she marries Naruto but she also marries Ino and Sakura and they all live in a sort of joint house (Naruto also marries Sasuke) - himawari is usually the one to help her in the garden (Boruto doesn’t like getting dirty) but when he’s upset or needs to think about things Boruto will help her - she and Chouji are best buds and bond over video games - she and Sasuke are pretty good friends eventually and they give each other book recommendations - she and Ino have a joint project together which is a memorial garden for all of those they’ve lost (with naruto’s help they make a statue of Kushina and Minato in the garden) - a lot of her work concerns city planning and running the Hyuuga clan with her sister but on occasion she helps Sakura with diplomacy meetings - she gossips about Naruto and Sasuke with Karin a lot

Its 4 am and I can’t sleep and I’m thinking about Sasuke with a service dog, Sasuke with a very serious minded dog to ease him out of dissociative episodes/panic attacks // of course the dog originally came from the Inuzukas and its the only tether both he and Kiba have towards each other They run into each other in public and Kiba is just like “hey!!!” but only to the dog, just talking directly to the dog with Sasuke standing right there, asks the dog how his day is going, he doesn’t pet him tho he knows he has a job to do

sasuke & c-ptsd: a meta

okay so i talk a lot about this headcanon and i decided to finally do a detailed meta about it.

first and foremost, let’s talk about what c-ptsd is. c-ptsd stands for complex post traumatic stress disorder, a differing disorder from the more common ptsd. it’s worth noting that c-ptsd isn’t an officially recognized disorder in the DSM - it’s been deemed too similar to ptsd and bpd for its own diagnosis, but it’s still used informally and i believe has its merit. i have ptsd, and would describe it more specifically as c-ptsd.

anyway, onto the specifics, and what this means for sasuke himself:

i got asked why i say naruto has borderline personality disorder, and i decided to just go ahead and make a Big Post about it because i think it’s really important to talk about how this much-loved protagonist hero shows the signs of a disorder that is usually highly stigmatized

(if you’re uneducated about what bpd is, here’s a basic overview - be careful of where you look for info on bpd; there are a lot of sites that provide inaccurate info that stigmatizes the disorder)

(if you’re going to yell at me about how naruto isn’t real and this post is pointless, save your efforts, because i really don’t care)

i say naruto has bpd for these main reasons:

he has a fear of abandonment and a deep need for acknowledgment

has what is often called a ‘favorite person’ and much of what he does is grounded in that fact. he desires acknowledgement from this person more than all others and fears their abandonment more than anyone else’s

he is very emotional, and his emotions are intense and subject to quick changes

he is very self-critical

he is high-empathy

i’ll now go through these now in a bit more detail, and try to provide examples.
