â stranger dangerâ
It was quiet a busy night for the boy wonder and the rest of the titans. So busy that they had to be spread out across the city stopping crime. There were people being mugged, kidnapped and a few stores being being broken into here and there around city. This has been the most busy the titans have been since Slade attacked.
It was just past midnight and Robin was running along the rooftops, hoping to catch someone in the act. A few minutes go by and he just seen three people leave a store that they had just broken into. He throws a birdarang at one of the robbers, hitting him on the side of his head knocking him out. The two robbers that are left quickly run into the closest alley they find, hopefully ditching Robin. But that was a big mistake, they only had one way out and that where he decided to make his entrance.
Robin the jumped down from the top of the building, using his cape to slow down before hitting the ground, with a loud thud and the noise from his cape. Robin looked up at them with a glare and then slowly stood up as his cape flowed in the wind. âYou two just made a big mistake,â He said before one the guys charged at him with a knife. He let out a little smile as stood there in his defensive position. The robber then tried to take out robin with a quick slice but he quickly dodged the blade, then Robin proceeded to disarm the robber and gave him an uppercut a left hook and threw him into the wall knocking him out.
Robin then looked at the other robber who was a little nervous to actually fight, so he just decided to charge at him. Robin dodged the guyâs punches left and right, he threw the guy over his shoulder and threw a few punches at him while heâs on the ground knocking him out as well. Grayson then heard someone behind him, thinking it was the other robber who he hit with the birdarang earlier.
Robin stood up and turned around to get a good luck at the person. But he stuck to the shadows so that only the white glow from his mask is visible. It took him a few seconds to realized that it was a citizen. âNo, he isnât dead just knocked out.â He said with a serious tone, âYou shouldnât be here, this place isnât safe.â Robin noticed the person was reaching for something in there pocket. He wasnât sure what it was but he didnât want to take the risk. âDonât even bother pulling out your weapon, if thatâs what you plan on doing.â He said with a slight growl.
â âŠÂ They werenât brave. That much was PAINFULLY obvious, the teen immediately moving their hands away from their pockets. Being threatened was more than terrifying, especially if that person was nothing but a figure with white-caked eyes. They felt as though they were nothing more than a stranger within the lionâs den - And god, they hated it.Â
â âŠÂ They hated the feeling of absolute cowardice that gripped their very BEING. They were supposed to be braver than this, they were supposed to be HARDENED by the world around them. Instead, they were practically quaking in their shoes. They were a criminal, damn it - As much as one as the ROBBERS discarded on the alley floor. They had stolen and threatened, LIED and ABANDONED - and now they were on the receiving end, likely about to meet the same unfortunate fate as those before them.  They were on deathâs doorstep - And death wore a white mask.Â
â ⊠â I - I was just going to call an AMBULANCE for them-- â Or nine-one-one. Whichever was faster to call and easier to alert while running for their life, should the stranger have pursued them. If he did, if they ended up having to RUN - they could have at least found solace in rooftops, if the city was KIND enough to allow them a way up to the concrete safe-haven. Unless he could climb too - In which case, they were promptly SCREWED. With no regrets, maybe dying wouldnât be too bad... Scratch that. From the hands of a near PSYCHOPATH, it would be worse than BAD.Â
â ⊠â I got the idea that it isnât safe, kind of OBVIOUS. â Of course they added sarcasm to their words.  It was a COPING mechanism to distract from the obvious terror shaking the teenâs body, to try and HIDE their own cracks in their voice. â I just - I got lost - Iâll - uh - Iâll go - â If they stepped back, would they have been attacked? What was the guarantee that the STRANGER would have cared if they were unarmed - Would he care ?? How were they supposed to know that, had they retreated, they wouldnât have been STABBED in the back ??Â
â âŠÂ The thoughts did nothing but clog their THROAT, keeping them from moving back or forward. They were a deer caught in headlights - And the stranger might as well have been a eighteen-wheeler.Â
Minor Verse Page Update !!
â âŠÂ Once again, they were ALONE. It wasnât as though they didnât deserve it: Abandoning their family, running away from the market, and leaving their brother BEHIND was more than enough reason to be sentenced to a life of absolute solitude. They deserved it and much more, Cache neglecting to think of the opposing side of the internal argument. It wasnât as though they had a CHOICE to leave or not - It was either their IDENTITY or their FAMILY... They had chosen the previous, abandoning the latter with little hesitation.Â
â âŠÂ Perhaps they SHOULD have hesitated.Â
â âŠÂ They could recall false MEMORIES of the city in its evening light. The buildings were as tall as they had been in photos, the people were as normal as anyone else, and they... werenât. Normality was a concept they left in the dust with their FAMILY - it was overrated.Â
â âŠÂ Their steps came to a shuddering halt, the sound of GROANS splitting the midnight air. It wasnât smart to be out so late - But when had they ever been considered SMART of all things ?? The teen was quick to steal a glance down an alleyway, eyes locking on a would-be familiar figure who had seemingly finished up his work.Â
â ⊠â Holy shit--  â They clamped their hand over their mouth, taking a hesitant step back. They didnât have their pocket knife, nothing -- If the other decided to attack, they would be dead in a heartbeat. â Are - Are they dead ??  â Their free hand was already drifting to their pocket to retrieve their burner phone, prepared to dial the emergency number to warn against a MASK WEARING psychopath beating up on people in alleyways. Maybe they were a hero - No, definitely not.Â
â âŠÂ They would have recognized him if he was.Â

â cool guy â
âGladly. Iâm Alfred, nice to meet you.â He offered a handshake, subtly eyeing the young man in his company as if performing a rushed evaluation. It wasnât everyday that he stuck around let alone engaged in prolonged conversation with his citizens, but he was feeling pretty good today and had decided to just roll with it. Soon after introducing himself, the pigeons theyâd kept their eyes on took flight, fluttering away like a many-hued storm. âYou often talk to strangers?âÂ
â âŠÂ ALFRED ?? They admittedly didnât take him for someone with that name - He looked more like a GEORGE or THEODORE - Maybe even Alexander. They wouldnât object to the calling card - As if they had any RIGHT to judge anotherâs name in their own situation. â Names CACHE, nice tâ meet ya, Alfy. â An already formulated NICKNAME, although theyâd make a note to change it later on if it didnât FIT. Alfred was far too formal a name for a guy who seemed interested in pigeons and social stuff. They hesitantly shook his HAND, letting their own drop back to their pockets shortly after. â Depends on the STRANGER, really. â
