Hanzō Akabane. He comes from a wealthy, conservative family of heroes and scientists, serving as the family's disappointment. He was supposed to become a pro hero, in accordance with the wishes of his elderly family members, but his quirk served for a miserable time. He attended Shiketsu, barely scraping by with limited usage of his quirk, and eventually got himself the hero license and a position as a side kick upon graduation. That only lasted about five months before Hanzō accidentally killed a fellow side kick during a hectic villain fight, had a mental breakdown, quit on the spot and disappeared.
He was missing and unreachable for five years, wherein he met Masao and lived through hell as a pawn and a weapon doing Masao's bidding. His escape cost him a kidney and a good chunk of his health, but he eventually reconnected with his family, got himself into rehab to hopefully leave the developed addictions behind, and studied until he became a teacher.
He was supposed to serve jail time too, but his family paid good money to have the charges dismissed and he got off scotch free. Same can't be said about his addictions though. Despite attending rehab and going to therapy, his alcoholism, pain killer dependency, and smoking habits didn't smooth over. He's simply more subtle about it.
Anyways, I did call him the favorite child for a reason, so here's some reference sheets for him. He is permanently disabled due to the drawbacks that his quirk comes with. As such, he's stuck wearing a body brace to keep his lower back from collapsing in on itself, and keeping his guts inside. A leg brace is used on his left leg for the same reasons as the body brace; keep his leg from falling apart or snapping out of shape, as well as offer support. And he also utilizes a cane to walk around. He's supposed to use hearing aids too for non-quirk related issues but he refuses, claiming to be able to hear just fine. He can't hear fine though. Albeit not deaf, his encounter with Hizashi Yamada back at the licensing exam left him with quite the nasty injuries.
And an older piece of art of what his uniform used to look like and what it looks like now.
He used to pretend to be quirkless when he was younger, relying strictly on team work and support items. Hectic fights, agility, and speed were his closest friends. When he disappeared and landed under Masao's influence, he began using his quirk more often and took on a ferryman aesthetic. The bulky silhouette of his ferryman costume served to confuse opponents and obscure his actual silhouette in hopes of not being struck (as his body began to gradually decay over time). It's an aesthetic he still has now, despite not acting as a villain anymore.
As for his quirk, well, it's necrokinesis. With touch, he can induce either a coma state in his victims, or accelerate the rate at which the victim's cells die off, resulting in a sped up aging process until the body gives up and dies. Unfortunately, with each use (successful or not), Hanzō suffers drawbacks. Necrosis, specifically. Attempts at surgically treating the necrotic tissue simply results in a faster spread, as the drawbacks serve as a punishment for playing with death, essentially. It's basically irrevocable karma. Pain killers and oxygen therapy help a little, though.
And that's all. There's two more freaks and a couple of background characters, but I've not drawn them properly yet...
or... fuckin' makato kaneko, or ren kuro. At the end of the day, it won't matter. They're all just names he can and will get rid of on a whim.
Ok, mha oc introduction number #1. On today's chopping board... Masao Fukuzawa — the fraud; LoV affiliate, cult leader, fraudulent therapist. A man who was bullied for his quirk and embraced the narrative that the public made for him, now seeking to kill and terrorize the same heroes that taunted him during his developing years.
Masao attended U.A high and was part of the heroics course up to year 2. Sometime during year 2, he dropped out after enduring bullying for a day too long. After dropping off the face of the earth, he resurfaced under a couple of different names until, finally, he settled for Masao Fukuzawa and made it big as a therapist. He is the main antagonist in the story im building up, and he's irredeemable. He ends up in police custody eventually, serving a three life sentences for his crimes and being stuck in solitary confinement due to posing a risk to other inmates.
As it stands, his crime list is as follows: numerous charges of... aggravated assault, 1st degree murder, fraud, possession and creation of drugs, distribution of drugs, conspiracy, kidnapping, physical assault, verbal abuse, psychological abuse, emotional abuse, torture, financial exploitation, forced labor, grooming.
He's the mentor / influence that another oc of mine looks up, and the person to blame for most that said oc does.
His costume if he hadn't dropped out and persued a career as a pro hero. It's a very fan-servicey suit with limited coverage to accommodate for his quirk (which I'll elaborate on). The most he carries with himself are bullet nd caffeine pills to aid with the drawbacks of his quirk.
As for his quirk, it's a transformation quirk called "Surprise". In short, it allows Masao to manipulate his skin and nerves and mold it into whatever he wishes and house facial organs (eyes, mouth, ears). As such it is versatile and most suitable for combat, mobility, and espionage. It is always active however, so usage drains him of his stamina and he finds himself in a constant state of fatigue. Hence the caffeine kicks.
