This is a couple of things - it is a poem, and also an odd piece of internet ephemera.

So, the following banter is more about the ephemera, rather than the poetry (which i really enjoy in its own context (especially how that context is a part of the ephemera)

There is a slight joke among some of my friends who have aged me by a few years that I still use Winamp (even post-AOL buyout) as my primary mp3 program. Mostly, it is the only functional player I’ve found over the years that isn’t bogged down with horse shit. It was an era when your media player wasn’t your media seller.

But, I feel slightly better knowing that this piece exists.

Though, in high school, in a post-napster age (the napster era being middle school), I knew that kazaa and limewire was for fools. Those programs were more for downloading bands that you already knew. Audiogalaxy was legit. I found a lot of new stuff through there. Black metal at 15. I guess though that some people used these programs otherwise.

I enjoy the nostalgia and internet-futurism of this piece.
