Plot ♥♥♥♥♥ Pokemon Blog
This is gonna be a kinda long post so, if you wanna read, click the Read More thingy. I'd appreciate it. :3
I know that this blog was in the middle (or rather beginning) of an event, but after some consideration and discussing it with my boyfriend, we are putting this blog on hiatus.
It won't be permanent (otherwise I'd just close it down), but it may be a bit before I post here again. Here's some of the reasons why we feel this needs to be done:
The main reason for this is time constraints. I know the blogs comic is posted bi-weekly, and therefore SHOULD have enough time to produce a single page of content, but that's not the case. My schooling, work, family obligations, and other things tied in with my boyfriend's commission backlog, family obligations, and other things just make it hard on us. We want to be able to enjoy producing a neopets series without scrambling about or worrying if it's any good since it's rushed.
You all may know about my pokeask blog, Team HopeSpark. This kind of ties in to the "other things" category, as we also produce content there. At the current moment, we can't keep up with both blogs, so we had to choose one. The reason we chose to continue that one and put this on hiatus is that the pokemon blog has begun establishing it's bases, plot, events, and stories. I kinda know where exactly I want that story to head. The neopets blog is basically a bunch of random stuff happening with no explanation as to WHY it is happening. As a story writer, this bothers me. I need to have plot happening and explain what's going on.
We kinda want to revamp the blog itself. Like, getting rid of all the non-HappilyDysfunctional content on here and just reblogging it to my personal tumblr, Mr-Zo-Rua. Just so that way the blog is a little more cleaned up, and is only showing content that is ACTUALLY related to the story of out neopets.
The comics we do would still be about random topics, but I think I need to add more structure and basis to those ideas but fully developing ALL of the characters. Right now, there are characters I have refs for, but haven't even used. I think I need to trim down the amount of neopets that appear in the series to a select few of my neopets and my boyfriends neopets. We need to figure out their pasts, stories, characteristics, and refs, AND THEN begin to post comics about their adventures. Also, I don't know why, but I dont think many people even go to the charahub page to look at the info about them, so I'll probably do away with that. I'll have the neopets used in the series as pages on tumblr with buttons on the sidebar going to them, so you dont have to go to a different site.
The lease important reason is that, honestly, I'm too tired to think of new ideas for my neopets right now. I already have to come up with stuff for the pokemon blog, write essays and do homework for school, AND try to keep up with my friends, play games, ect (having free time, basically). And going with the previous bullet, I want to develop the characters more, cuz right now it's kinda boring to me.
So there you have it, our reasons for doing this. It's kinda a jumbled mess of reasons, but our lives are a jumbled mess too. lol Again, this blog is NOT closing down, but may be on an extended hiatus. I dunno for how long, could be a couple weeks, a few months, maybe not even until next year sometime. But it will come back, and I'll be able to give you guys content you deserve, not some last minute round-up of ideas. Hope you guys will understand, we love all of you for your support, and hope you continue to support us when we start up again! See you guys later!
P.S. I'm gonna queue this post to post again tomorrow as well, more for the morning time peeps. lol
So, myself and my boyfriend have been getting busy during the weekdays, me with college/art projects and him with commissions (no don't ask for them here lol).
SO! We decided the bi-weekly comic will now be posted on Saturday, starting with this next one. We are just tired of scrambling at the last minute to pump out a page because we're SO busy during weekdays. And you may ask "Why not do it on the weekend you don't post?" EXCELLENT QUESTION! Because we do work on it, it just takes a lot of time. xD Also, we aren't working on things 24/7, sometimes we like to just chill together without worrying about work, school, or anything else. We're humans too! x3
So yeah, just wanted to give y'all a heads up. Comic to be posted this Saturday, and every other Saturday hereafter! Thanks for supporting us and understanding! <3
