Hello, and welcome back to my account!

A lot has changed since I was last active here, so let me re-introduce myself!

You can call me birdie, I'm 18 and have recently started my first year in college. I'm majoring in biotechnology!

I'm from India, and have been in the studyblr community for almost 2 years, I think?

As most of us do, this account is to motivate myself (and others, I hope 😁) in my academic pursuits, and to hopefully keep myself on track!

I enjoy reading, writing, the occasional sport (i adore badminton) and listening to music (kpop is my go-to, and i'm currently testing the waters with thai pop)

I hope we can get to know each other better! I'm always open to making new friends here 😊

it's hot and humid — the sky bursting open with rain and thunder when you least expect it. the same old trek of autorickshaw, metro, walking in the heat, except in another city. thinking, writing and discussing a lot about what it means to be feminist, what it means to be woman. what does care and care work look like? detours perhaps but detours are necessary. also extremely frustrated with how quickly my body tires.

✨ 16.01.2025 // I worked on my english vocabulary and did my homework (yeah I still have a bit of homework!!!!). I'm really proud of myself because I'm not feeling exhausted after studying for a few hours :) Not a huge win but I'll take it!

I also did a babysitting which was cool although tiring, children are so energetic omg how do they find so much energy, I need it for myself 😭

what happens to the promises we make to ourselves the first week of january? among my resolutions this year are two classic aspirations—eating better and reading more. back in university, i used to complain endlessly about not having time to read for pleasure, blaming the relentless churn of assignments and exams. now, with a full-time job, i’ve realized that the excuses haven’t left; they’ve simply evolved.

toward the end of last year, i noticed something curious: i wasn’t just neglecting books; i was actively avoiding them, using “too tired” and “too busy” as flimsy shields for procrastination. reading—a former love—had somehow become a chore. but today felt different.

fueled by a hearty poke bowl, brimming with nutrients and good intentions, i finally dusted off a book that’s been staring at me from my desk for months. as i turned the pages, i felt a flicker of something familiar—an energy that wasn’t just from the omega-3s in the avocado and seeds but from the joy of reconnecting with an old habit.

i’m hoping my return to tumblr, another space that used to bring me joy, will help me stay motivated and accountable in sustaining these goals. small steps, perhaps, but they feel like the start of something meaningful.

surprising absolutely no one, local disease nerd (me) is having an amazing time in disease ecology class. i have a good feeling about this term - i'm excited about the challenge of new courses and secure in the knowledge that i am capable of success.

i do wish it would snow, though ❄️

August 26, 2022 :: ugh, so much time has passed since I last posted on here and I've got quite a few things and photos to share still.

But for now, appreciate me being in the university cafeteria, which I love, and I am all by myself here, trying to rush through my paper. I need to hand this one in at the end of the month which is 5 days from today.

I'm writing about inequality in education and it is depressing but I'm currently looking into organisations and programs that counteract on the systemic failures.

So the first week of internship passed and it was a mix of excitement and nervousness, I'm still learning, there are things I'm good at, things that need improving, everyone around seem to be so much more smarter and invincible

16th september 2023 : Today, I felt nothing interesting - I slept almost all day. I got through my first week of uni and damn was it messy - the administration messed up with our options, I didn't get to see how to get in sports, I had some troubles with a few buddies... So I just slept today. And watched the Legend of Korra ! I'm adding tasks for tomorrow.

one unit of spanish and portuguese on duolingo.

clean the flat.

read for thirty minutes.

take a walk outside.

try to get back to collage/jewelry making/drawing.

continue to write a story.

eye-opening tumblr post for me included the words "people are meant to be burdens" as in humans rely on and support one another and it's not a bother it's our purpose; to love and be loved in return. so if you ever think you're being annoying just remember we were made to love and it's going to be okay

I continued my crochet project and almost finished it, but the two parts of the star aren't the same size :(( (it was predictable though)

I now have a break in my internship of approximately ten days, I will try to REST I'M SO TIRED 😭

im in rome preparing for today’s exam of conflict and peace building… decided to go to a nice coffee shop and start revising for tomorrow’s exam and read again today’s notes. ☁️🌱
