Struggling

(I wouldn’t post this at all, except this is the only place that feels like someone would understand)

Anxiety is getting the best of me right now. My regular meds are good at keeping me pretty emotionally neutral... but I’ve just finished a course of steroids, and the come-down has been really rough. I’ve been trying some self-care things (like actually showering instead of a nasty ponytail and sweats), but it feels like the stressors are staying one step ahead of the self-care. There’s a ton more, but it makes me cry and I’m tired of crying.

Anyway.

I didn’t realize how much watching SPN was a self-care thing I would do... until I didn’t have access to it (I was seasons behind, and binge-watching when I needed it). I had finally caught up to season 13 this summer, but we moved right when the first episode came out (then didn’t have internet for over 2 weeks). By the time we were settled enough for me to watch, I had missed the first few episodes. I let it go at first-- I had watched every other season after-the-fact, I’ll just wait for Netflix for this one too. But then the steroids came-down, and the anxiety came up, and I was doing stuff that used to work to bring me back to center... but it hasn’t been enough. I was making a self-care list, and it hit me that the thing that was missing from the list was SPN. Basically, I self-medicate with SPN, and I’m going through withdrawal.

I am hoping that talking about it helps... somehow.
