The Floor Scrapers (also known as The Floor Strippers) Gustave Caillebotte - 1875
The Floor Scrapers was Caillebotte’s first painting to be exhibited, at an Impressionist exhibition in 1875. At the time, the painting, with its dramatic perspective and ocher tones, was dismissed as vulgar. Today, it is considered a major work of the time.
