âJust because youâre beautiful, doesnât mean you can treat people like they donât matter.â
10 Things I Hate About You (1999) dir. Gil Junger
BOOK STARTERS VOL.38     CATâS EYE    MARGARET ATWOOD
â Love blurs your vision; but after it recedes, you can see more clearly than ever. â
â This is the kind of thing you see if you sit in the darkness with open eyes. â
â I have done something wrong, something so huge I canât even see it, something thatâs drowning me. â
â Whatever is happening to me is my own fault. â
â Hatred is easier. Hatred is clear, metallic, one-handed, unwavering; unlike love. â
â Potential has a shelf life. â
â Donât move. Stay like that, let me have that. â
â I have come to the edge, of the land. I could get pushed over. â
â Never pray for justice, because you might get some. â
â It disturbs me to learn I have hurt someone unintentionally. I want all my hurts to be intentional. â
â We have been shark to one another, but also lifeboat. That counts for something. â
â This is what I miss, not something thatâs gone, but something that will never happen. â
â I am not good. I know too much to be good. I know myself. I know myself to be vengeful, greedy, secretive and sly. â
â You are amazing. Amazing and agonising and almost lethal. â
â In my dreams of this city I am always lost. â
â I donât know where these feelings have come from, I donât what Iâve done. â
â I am not the centre of your story, you are.  â
â Iâm mad because youâre an asshole. â
â Itâs enormously pleasing to me, walking away. Itâs like being able to make people appear and vanish, at will. â
â There is never only one of anyone. â
â I canât do this without feeling Iâm acting. â
â I am prepared for almost anything; except absence, except silence. â
â Iâm losing my appetite for strangers. â
â You wear your cravings on the outside, like the suckers on a squid. You want it all. â
â Knowing too much about other people weakens you. You are forced to understand their reasons for doing things and you are weakened. â
â I have lost confidence: perhaps all I will ever be is what I am now. â
â Echoes of light, shining out of the midst of nothing. Itâs old light, and thereâs not much of it. But itâs enough to see by. â
â Whoever cares the most will lose. â
â Young women need unfairness, itâs one of their few defences.  â
â Time has gone on without you. â

â Yes Ivy, very much so. It was a gift, a replica of grandmotherâs music box --- except with rose gold instead of yellow. Funny how I was starting to think this place wasnât as filled with trash as I did upon my arrival, but I guess that is being naĂŻve; what if someone stole it?! â Letting out a deep, heavy sigh, the redhead brushed a curl behind her ear. â We could do that, yes, but I warn you: the only people who enter my room besides myself are my family and a very close friend. None of them would ever do such a thing to me ... I am Holmes? â The princess inquired with a laugh, hands resting on her hips in a prideful manner. â Canât say I was expecting any less. Here, follow me, â and so, the redhead started to make way towards her bedroom.Â
Top three favorite kinks?
  â ... How should I know? â

âYouâre telling meâŠâ Micha whispered under his breath, barely audible. âAll right⊠just⊠stop panicking. Iâm- Iâm sure, you just misplaced it. Simple. WhereâŠâ he started looking around, slowly. âWhere was the, um⊠last place, that you saw it?â
â Hm, did you say something? â The princess asked, though her attention didnât linger on the subject for long. Soon enough, she was looking around her room frantically once again. â I-I always keep it on my bedside table, always! It should be there, right there! What if it got stolen, who could possibly do such a mean thing?! Itâs my music box! â
Itâs Sinday! Send dirty anons for my muses to answer to!

âItâs not that ugly⊠I just like the one you picked out more. Ugh⊠Fine. Donât trade with me. Iâll suffer through the ugly cupcake.â
@nerissatriton
â Um, yes it is, and it is completely your fault that you were too slow to pick the better cupcake. Now, Iâm willing to give you a bite, but with one condition! â
dragonxsmâ:
âOh, come on. Youâre definitely a little scared. Itâs alright, Iâll keep you safe.â
@nerissatriton
â Well, how come youâre not even a little bit scared? â She asked with furrowed brows, free hand reaching for his arm, â arenât you afraid of anything? I know theyâre just fake monsters, but still! â
â I knew youâd end up holding my hand. â
â W-What?! I am definitely not scared! I was just-- ... Oh come on, they keep making monsters pop out of nowhere! Forgive me Iâm not particularly fond of ugly things! â
â Letâs swap. I donât like these. â
â I thought I was the spoiled child. What kind of sister would I be if I let you take the easy way out, Toby? ... You picked the ugly, bad cupcake. Deal with it. â
ivyravenâ:
âYou were rightâitâs a lovely park, truly,â Ivy admitted as they strolled down the uneven dirt path. âThough, I did think we would be able to venture deep into the woods.â
To their left, she could spot the safe, paved concrete walkway which always circled back to the center where an newly constructed childrenâs playground stood tall and proud. Her disappointed left a sour taste toward the back of her mouth, and it was not easily swallowed. She accepted the necessity of the changing world and new advances, with the understanding that being able to escape it was all the more important. One shouldnât have to go through so much effort to spy somewhere unburdened by humanity.
Ivy paused as they neared a vague fork in the pathway before them, and eyed the trail to the left. It was overgrown, and grew dark and grim as her gaze followed down into the thick, overgrown woods. âShall we meander to the left?â She asked. âIf youâre not feeling particularly brave I understand.â
â Frankly there are better ones in Monaco, but I suppose we have to work with what weâve got. â
Her brows furrow together when the other mentions the woods. Why would anyone in their right mind want to venture into such a place? Certainly Nerissa would understand wanting to go to the beach; the weather wasnât particularly bright, but the atmosphere was still much better than trees everywhere and a lack of light! Especially when there were so many new, interesting things to explore --- or at least they were still new to the redhead.
Brushing a curl behind her ear, she kept her other hand on her waist and glanced over at the overgrown woods. No, it didnât strike her as a good idea, but neither did coming to the Palace in the first place, and that certainly had changed. Letting out a deep breath, Nerissa rose her eyebrows at the brunette. â I am brave, that is not the issue. We shall, but when I say it is time to go back, we go back. â
