There are a lot of things in life I can live without and then there are a few things in life I'm destined to have before I can move on. Currently the Pia Wallén cross blanket is on my short list of cures for my greatest first world problem: my home isn't quite pretty enough (will it ever be?).

Today I picked up a Karlstad loveseat and chaise ($978 in isunda gray before tax and shipping) in perfect condition for $300 thanks to Craigslist. It needs isunda gray slipcovers which will cost a little less than $400. If I had bought the sofa new, it'd have cost just under $1200 including the cost of delivery. So i'll have saved about $500. I think this opens me up to a perfectly legit opportunity to justify spending ~$100 (77EUR + s&h) on a blanket. With hundreds of dollars saved still.

Photos taken from inside one of my favorite restaurants called the Floridian based in downtown St. Augustine, FL. Every time I visit this restaurant, I find myself enamored with a piece of art on display in one of their two public restrooms. The art is in the same frantic black and white illustration style of this gigantic alligator piece and I've come to learn through the reliable sources of close friends and Google that the artist responsible is Jules Buck Jones. An Austin-based artist who evidently has zero work for sale on the wonderful world of the interwebs and who is therefore solely responsible for all of my current frustrations.

I need a print of this. Real bad. Maybe more than I need air to breathe and water to drink.

In an ongoing search for pieces of art that represent Florida and the things I love about it (all the different bodies of water, the palms, the unique wildlife, and the color schemes of the land and water), this artist has hit the nail on the head for me in a way that nobody else quite has.
