The Most Beautiful Thing
By: Mary Kris B. Legaspi
Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. It can be the oak tree that is swaying in the wind, or it can be that little four year old girl that is running around with a bubble blower in her tiny hands. Beauty is perceived differently by everyone. Someone may see the beauty if a leaf that is blowing in the wind, while another person may not even see the beauty of that particular leaf. It is really up to the person that sees the beauty of life. There are no specifics, so there isn't any way to judge beauty.
In my everyday life, I am blessed to see beautiful things this world could offer, but identifying the most beautiful out of them is really a tough decision, isn’t it? I’m wondering on the basis on how to evaluate that most beautiful thing. A beautiful thing is not necessary to be a thing like the ones we can see, touch, or smell. It can be something like, experience, feeling or emotion. Well frankly speaking, I’m not into terms like “most” because every time I used that word sounds like too much for a thing.
Love is a really scary thing, and you never know what's going to happen. It's one of the most beautiful things in life, but it's one of the most terrifying. It's worth the fear because you have more knowledge, experience, you learn from people, and you have memories.
This past few weeks has been a tough hell for me, with all the final exams preparation, requirements and quizzes. Remembering the feeling on that very moment, I could say that the most beautiful thing is “SLEEP”, because that’s what I’ve really needed in order to survive. As what one of my blockmate told me that in our situation, “sleep is optional”.
Another thing that I can consider the most beautiful thing that happened to me is that, my favorite K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN got their not just first but also second win in music shows. It’s beautiful because, their success is our victory as a fan and seeing all their efforts practicing and performing just to pay us back, it’s really amazing. In line with this, they are planning an Asian Tour this August 2016 and Philippines is one of the countries they are going to visit, so as an avid fan, I really want to attend that fanmeet (cross finger). Being able to attend on that fanmeet means a lot to me and probable the most beautiful thing that might happen in my social life.
To sum up everything, for me the most beautiful thing is something like being alive up until now despite of all the challenges you are facing, being able to give a genuine smile even though you are breaking inside. There are so many beautiful things in this world; it is just a matter of how you see it and how you give meaning to it. It’s not necessary to be physically beautiful as long as it gives you happiness well for me you can consider it beautiful already like memories, bad or good they are beautiful because it molds you to a new and stronger version of yourself. Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places were other people see nothing. It might sound cliché but I do believe in the saying that goes like this, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt by the heart” by Helen Keller.
