A little S7 ACGAS prediction based on a few BTS clips etc. Siegfried sees Audrey at her best in the village quest for justice and comes to a realisation that he must tell her how he feels, for good.

He picked up her hand, ever so gently, a carefulness she knew he harboured but rarely saw, and stroked his thumb across her fingers, sending a tingle straight down her spine. They had held hands before, they had hugged, but this felt different

 As Audrey had once told him, early on, for all intents and purposes, he was Tristan’s father, a sentence which had once caused him distress, now rang true in his mind, with a slight amendment: Audrey. She had never seen herself as having such an important role in Tristan’s life, Siegfried mused, but he was certain that she now saw the essential motherly role she played for Tristan.

The Skeldale family still don't know about the blossoming relationship between Siegfried and Audrey, how will they react when they do find out?

My most used tags are probably Siegfried/Audrey, Fluff, and Hurt/Comfort!! (From that you can probably deduce what the vast majority of my fics are about heehee)

Things I’ve learned through research:

In my holby days, I learned so much about medical conditions especially heart surgery but my most recent discoveries have been about the 1940s while writing ACGAS fic. Probably the last thing I learned while researching was all about Marguerite Patten and her cookery books and radio show during the war which basically helped women (because it was women doing all the cooking in those days) make the most out of the rations for the week in WWII. I was particularly interested in how things were rationed (for instance some things by weight as expected but there were things rationed by price which I hadn’t expected!), and I hadn’t realised how policed it was - you told the gov. where you were going to buy the bacon from and you stuck to that no matter if you were buying everything else elsewhere. This podcast was where I began in this little quest, and I hope that all the rationing associated knowledge will find its way into a little fic I’ve started based on a couple of filming pictures!!

I love having a sewing machine and the ability to mend, make, and alter my own clothes. It’s something that my boss was really pleasantly surprised by when I told her I had my machine out on my desk and I love being able to say, oh I made this top or I patched these jeans myself. Plus it’s a gorgeous way of destressing for me (reason I’ll never go onto sewing bee haha!) and I love having made some clear progress each time! Granny was a seamstress so mending my dad’s pocket this evening made me feel so close to her, even if we didn’t do much sewing together as I was growing up. Anyway, I’ve a new project lined up now I’ve done my jeans so v excited about buying the fabric for it, even though I know it won’t take long to make!!

She spotted a folded piece of paper with her name written hurriedly, but with an unmistakeable flourish, and picked it up and began to read.
