Good afternoon! We are NEW NEW YORK, a next-generation Glee roleplay set in the greatest city in the world -- New York City. Admittedly, the group is currently on a vacation to Los Angeles, but they’ll be back in the Big Apple in no time, and we’d love for you to join us. We have some great roles open at the moment, including a Lopez-Pierce, a couple of Hummel-Andersons, and a Schuester. And would particularly love to fill our Abrams and our McCarthy slots to give Harry and Miles their siblings 

If you have any questions, the admin will be around all day (aren’t we all??) to answer them!

IT’S VACATION TIME!

‘Bout to drop a lot of info, so please read this post thoroughly, and like it when you’re done!

The gang is off to the dazzling lights of Los Angeles, California! Below is the schedule of events: this whole event will run from Monday 27th April (9pm GMT) to Monday, 4th May (9pm GMT),  with the scope to expand if we feel we need a few days to wrap up threads. As always, threads will be able to be wrapped up after this time, but new ones may not be started.

An important thing to note is that there will not be dash posts during this time. All interactions will be in our usual face to face format, which includes speech marks to indicate an in-character interaction, and can, but does not have to, contain description. And, as always, other forms of communication are allowed and encouraged – tweets, instagram posts, calls, and texts are all fine, just no tumblr dash posts.

We will be having one mandatory event (the trip to Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park) on the final weekend of the trip, which would be Friday for our characters, but, for us, will be Friday 9pm GMT to Sunday 9pm GMT. This is the one we’ll be using our Discord for. We will also be introducing an IC group chat on the Discord for the duration of the trip.

Please feel free to use the free days to have your characters hang out (and get drunk/messy pls and thank). This includes hosting parties in smaller groups – such as a group of roomies hosting a party in their room, and maybe inviting one or two others. You do you, but please post in the plotting channel if any mini events are planned -- these can also be played out in the event discord if you want!

The gang will room in the following groups:

ROOM 1: Hannah, Hepburn, Ivy, Saskia.

ROOM 2: Miles, Cameron, Levi.

ROOM 3: Zeke, Harry.

ROOM 4: Clara, Marci, Elena.

Micah Anderson is unable to attend the trip due to his parole agreement.

The events below are to give you a few ideas of what people are up to. Your character does not have to take part in every event, but this is an idea of what most people will hopefully be doing each day. The ‘free day’ has two purposes: one, to allow you to post any new and unrelated starters with your own ideas, and two, to give you time to wrap up threads from previous days. Please title and/or tag your threads accordingly so we know which day each thread is for.

Luckily for our gang, the weather forecast is beautiful for LA during that time – at least, according to the made-up weather channel I’m watching. It will vary between a nice 25c to 30c (California has swapped to Celsius now). As they’ll be near the beach, please assume any and all water or nature related activities are available – the Airbnb they’re in will also have whatever facilities you want to include, be it games, a hot tub, a pool, a deck with a beautiful view -- it’s like the RoR from Harry Potter. And the city of LA is obviously there for them to explore, whether you pick big tourist spots or hidden gems.

Okay. Enough info. Here is the schedule for the week! I’ll post each day on the main what they’re up to, and as always, shoot me any questions if anything was confusing!

27th: ARRIVAL & HOLLYWOOD SIGN/GRIFFITHS OBSERVATORY HIKE 28th: free day (suggested: Santa Monica Pier) 29th: DINNER AT COOPER ANDERSON’S 30th: free day (suggested: Hollywood  Walk of Fame) 1st-3rd: TRIP TO KNOTT’S BERRY FARM (only Friday for our characters, so they’d be up to other touristy things throughout the weekend) 4th: DEPARTURE: No need to play this out, so use this day to start wrapping up threads!

HONESTY HOUR

Howdy, all! It’s honesty hour at NNY, and we’re ready to answer some Qs!

As before, it’s requested that you send the three taken characters that are after you on the masterlist at least five questions. This means, for example, that Cameron will send 5 asks to Hannah, Levi, and Clara, and Levi will send 5 to Clara, Harry, and Amelia.

is there a character limit per player?

Yep, we currently only allow a play to have two characters (the second of which can be taken after a week’s good activity in the group). These characters also have to be from different families, so nobody is allowed to play their own sibling in the group. Hope that makes sense!

DEVELOPMENT TASK

For the first time ever, I let people vote on things... democracy is alive and well. The dictatorship has ended! As per the outcome of the vote, the task for this week.. AUs!

Below will be some suggestion of AUs, and you can do these however you like – paras, headcanons, aesthetics, or any other way to get the information across. I’ve put some questions after each AU to get the muse flowing, but you don’t have to answer all/any, just whatever fits the form you take. I’d love to see some self-paras, but also, I feel the lazy vibe, so headcanons are just as good.

As always, you are free to do as few or as many of the AUs as you like, and to do your own ideas if you have better ones (which you almost definitely will). Any TV show, trope, type of media -- hit me with it. These may also be super fun to write with one or two other players from the group – particularly if you want to do a meet cute with your BFF or love interest (coffee shop AU, anyone? teacher/student? married in Vegas? the possibilities are endless!).

Anyways, here’s my suggestions:

HARRY POTTER. The classic. What house is your character in? How long does it take to sort them? What about their wand, their patronus, their pet? Do they apply for the Triwizard tournament? Do they join Dumbledore’s Army, the Order of the Phoenix, or the Death Eaters? What do they end up doing after Hogwarts? JK Rowling won’t stop goddamn world building, so there’s plenty to write about!

HUNGER GAMES. What district are they from? How do they end up competing in the games? What weapons and strategy do they pick – are they the first to die, or do they make it all the way to the end? What if it’s not them but their sibling who’s chosen? Which other characters would they meet along the way? This would be a great one to write with someone else from the group.

SUPERHERO. What are your hero’s powers? Their origin story? Do they work with a team, or are they a lone wolf? What happens when they’re tested? What happens when their identity gets revealed? What does their suit look like? So much to write about – Cam isn’t sure if he’s Captain America or Iron Man, but he might settle just for calling himself Captain Iron Man. Hepburn can be the Hulk.

TIME TRAVEL. Okay, so this may be my favourite one of the lot, though it’s probably the one best suited to paraing. Your character has woken up one day and gone back in time, to… well, sometime between 2009 and 2015. And, amazingly, they happen to be in Lima, Ohio, with their parent(s) currently sitting in their weekly Glee club meeting… Do they approach? Do they reveal who they are? What do they ask? What does their parent ask them? If they lie, what do they say? What time is this exactly – are your character’s parents even together? It’s Glee – so probably not!

CAM’S KARAOKE CELEBRATION

Everyone’s favourite hat owner turns 24 on the 3rd April, and he’ll be celebrating the only way he knows how -- in song! Cameron will be hosting a private karaoke party at a karaoke bar, and everyone will be forced to duet with him, no matter how reluctant they are. The night will end, obviously, with One Day More -- Cam has already shotgunned Valjean’s part, and other parts are going fast!

The event will be on Saturday evening in game, but will run Friday 9pm BST to Sunday 9pm BST for us. Usual rules apply, so all dash interactions will be frozen, and only face to face interactions and appropriate social media posts will be permitted.

Last event, you were encouraged to post your character’s outfit for Clara’s premier -- this time, I’d like to see your character’s go-to karaoke song ( -- these can go into the development channel during the event). As always, we’ll be playing some games or maybe watching something together over on discord -- we can discuss on the night what we want to do!

Because the remaining LP can be either Santana’s, Brittany’s, or adopted, the world is your oyster with faceclaims! Here are some of our ideas: Froy Gutierez, Rami Malek, Michael B. As for personalities, there’s a few I’d like to see – we generally have very extroverted, friendly characters who are involved in showbiz in some way, so for variety, I’d suggest someone who’s very into their sports (sort of a bro or a jock character), someone who is very shy and bookish, or someone who’s inherited a bit of Santana’s sass and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers. Those are the types we’re lacking the most!

MOODBOARDS

Our task for this weekend is a good one -- it’s moodboards. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to make three moodboards for your character(s). If anyone has any questions about what moodboards are/how to make them, feel free to message me. And the best way to find a moodboard gif hunt is to literally just google that phrase -- a bunch should come up.

So. What are the three moodboards we should make, I hear you ask –

YOUR CHARACTER. Simples. Just about them as a person, though can obviously include key relationship dynamics too.

THEIR FAMILY. Can be about any combination of their fam – just (a) parent(s), just (a) sib(s), or the family as a whole –  entirely up to you!

ONE NON-RELATION. A moodboard for your character and somebody else in the group! Can be their bff, their crush, their enemy, their old flame… whoever you want. There are no rules.

And… the bonus task is to try and include some gifs in your moodboard(s) of your character’s parent(s). There’s definitely Glee gifs floating around in gif hunts, so it hopefully won’t be too difficult – but I wish luck to the children of the less major characters, oops.

Of course, you can create as many or as few moodboards as you like. Want to do one per sibling? Fine! Want to do some other theme entirely? Great! These are just ideas to help get you started with all your moodboard adventures.  Have fun, and happy moodboarding!
