New Release
A digital media festival featuring artworks from ten emerging Canberra artists at M16 Artspace. Opening: Thursday 8 May 6pm. Showing: 8 May - 25 May 2014. New Release is an exploration of contemporary digital media. It is a ‘festival’ showcasing works from ten emerging Canberra artists who offer perspectives on a diverse range of subjects, in the true manner of a film festival. Each work reflects the different themes and influences that these artists have encountered in recent years, allowing the audience an insight into the range of nuances of emerging digital medias. Dominic Aldis, Peter Bailey, John Carolan, Eleanor Evans, Bronwen Maher, Alex Orme, Sebastian Ryan, Daniel Savage, Elliot Schultz and Ellie Windred, draw significantly on such themes as the human condition, interaction with nature and the interpretation of myths (from family histories to Grecian stories). These threads simultaneously draw together and separate the artists, as they each explore the potential of their subject matter. Curated by Ellen V Wignell.
M16 Artspace is located at 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith, ACT.
