He could tell that she doubted that he wasn’t here to see her, even though he was being truthful this time. Nate didn’t blame her though, there had been a few nights he’d came over and ended up leaving with her. “Surprise me. You can pour yourself a shot as well, on me.”
“Wow, and it’s not even my birthday.” Nicole teased, her lips parting to smile. Reaching for two clean shot glasses, Nicole poured them both a generous shot of tequila, and placed two lime wedges against the salted rims. Holding her shot glass in one hand she looked the man in his eyes before throwing it back in one swift motion, “Bottoms up.”
Noami was walking down the stairs of the Spring Hill school, without her noticing that she had missed a step, she slid down and landed on her ass. “That’s just great–” Noami was known for being super clumsy girl so it wasn’t a surprise that something like that would happen to her. “At least none of my students are around.” She said putting both of her hands on her face as she sat there, talking to herself. @shstarters
Her loose curls gently beating the perimeters of her face, Nicole briskly galloped down the stairs of Spring Hill school. She’d briefly rushed over to the school to pick up the homework her little brother “forgot” to bring home. Nicole couldn’t even be mad...it wasn’t like she hadn’t pulled the same stunts when she a kid. Grabbing onto the railing, Nicole’s eyes widened in shock as she watched the petite framed girl take a graceful tumble down the stairs. Nicole covered her mouth, only to let out a hearty laugh once she realized who it was. “Dude, why am I not even surprised it’s you,” she chuckled offering a hand to get Naomi up, “Are you okay?”
he examined the license that was handed to him and he had noticed that the expiration date was in red and he shook his head as he handed it back to her, “i need something that isn’t expired. i can’t take an expired license.” he mentioned to her as he looked at her. “well most places shouldn’t be giving you tattoos if you are inebriated, they actually make you sign something that you can’t complain about their work if you were drunk when you went in and got it.” he mentioned to the woman. “i can’t tell you how long this place has been open, but i have been working here for the last two years.”
“Well, I look ugly in the only other ID I have,” Nicole whined as she rummaged through her purse — this time for a passport in less than mint condition, “Yes that’s me.” Nicole handed him the passport face down, unable to face the tragic round faced, frizzy haired chaos that was her passport photo. “Most places aren’t your boyfriend’s creepy cousin’s tattoo shop in Queens though,” Nicole said matter-of-factly as she sat on the ink bed, waiting for him to prep his tools, “Oh, nice. How long you been a tattoo artist?”
“that’s awesome that it’s plain like you, but i’m going to need it so i can take a copy of it. ah okay, well every area hurts different for different people, but you said you want this on your lower back? i don’t think it’ll hurt too bad, i guess it just depends what kind of pain tolerance you have. the ribs tend to hurt everyone so it’s not too weird that it ended up hurting there. wait, a year to fully heal? i can’t imagine anything taking a full year to fully heal. are you sure you got a tattoo?” he teased her as he looked at her. he had never heard any of his clients complain about a long time for everything to heal, but a year was still crazy to him. “where were you that you got that tattoo?”
Nicole’s held back a curious smile as she handed Grayson her expired driver’s license, “Nice try, sir but I’m anything but plain.” She crossed her arms as she thought back to her tattoo from hell. It was traumatic to say the least and the blood...so much blood. “I’ll be completely honest with you I was 21 and drunk as hell. Dude could’ve branded me for all I remember. I don’t even think he was licensed.” It was a true story and she has poorly inked hieroglyphics on her rib cage to prove it. “How long’s this place been open for anyways? Apparently everyone in Springhill has been here but me.”
Nicole’s pen’s glided gracefully across the fresh sheet of paper all while she racked her brain for reasons why she doesn’t need another tattoo. Money? Tips had been good to her that week, she could definitely afford it. Her mother? Well, what she doesn’t know wont kill her...after all, this wasn’t the first tattoo Nicole had gotten behind her parents’ backs. Pocketing the pen and sliding out from the cushioned seats, Nicole made her way to the front desk tentatively placing her paperwork on the counter. “I know I look underage, but I promise I don’t need a parent to sign for me,” Nicole declared with a small, dry smirk, “So I know what I want already. I want a devil girl and an angel girl on my lower back. But, I want them to be drawn like, REALLY hot.” While her choice of ink was campy and absurd, sadly Nicole’s mind was made up.
For once, Nate wasn’t going out with a specific reason or goal in mind, he needed to think, get a clear head about some things. Mainly, his feelings for Mia. So he’d gone to Ceux Qui Sont Tombe, hoping that it wouldn’t be too busy tonight. Seeing Nicole at the other end of the bar he chuckled, shaking his head. They dated during his senior year of high school, hooked up several times after that, she was Mia’s best friend. And once again his thoughts strayed to her. “Sorry to disappoint, didn’t even know you were working tonight.”
Nicole instinctively went to roll her eyes, stopping herself to give the boy a facetious smile. “Yeah, whatever,” she teased him, eyebrows raised before darting her eyes around at the customers nearby, “So, what are we drinking tonight? Brown liquor or white?” She held up two distinctively different bottles of alcohol as she asked, doing a little jig as she went to pour the boy a shot. While she and Nate boasted a slightly tumultuous high school relationship and breakup, Nicole secretly looked forwards to nights like these. Where they could ease their tensions with a bit of booze and sometimes...other things.
For a Thursday night, Ceux Qui Sont Tombes was especially quiet, but for once in her life Nicole wasn’t complaining. Her tips so far had made a grueling 8 hour shift worth it, and it was almost time to clock out. Mindlessly slinging her rag along the glistening taps, Nicole stopped for a moment. One drink at the end of the day shouldn’t hurt. The raven haired girl laid a delicate shot glass along the countertop and lifted her favorite Don Julio from it’s pod on the shelf. Carefully, pouring herself a generous shot, she tossed the bitter liquid down her throat grimacing at the burn. Damn, she thought, I’m getting soft. Just then, a familiar face commanded the Nicole’s attention from behind the ornate, metal bar. Oh, Nate. A playful smirk tugged at the corner of Nicole’s lips as she lowered herself onto the bar in front of her, “You stalking me now, or what?”

BACKGROUND .
Like her last name would suggest, the Genoveses; a name which can be traced back to the seaports of Italy, are a true working class, Italian-American family. And while Nicole may have been adopted; her true heritage unknown, Love Italia is all she’s ever known. A true Pisces by nature, Nicole has always been somewhat of a dreamy spirit. In fact, Mrs. Genoveses always says Nicole came to her in a dream before her parents ever even thought about adopting. With her large, magnetic brown eyes, and a smile so coy even she doesn’t know what she’s hiding, it was easy for Nicole to fit right into the chaotic world she’d been transplanted to.
An athlete and a thespian, Nicole made quite the name for herself at her catholic, New Jersey high school. While her GPA may have left a lot to be desired, Nicole didn’t care as she had other things on her mind. Fame. Ever since she was a little girl, Nicole wanted to be an actress. And while her mother did everything she could for the brunette to fulfill her dreams; ultimately the big fish small pond theory became all too real for Nicole. She knew if she wanted to make it BIG, she’d have to get out of her small community in Jersey and move to the city — New York City that is. So, that’s what she did; pooling all her money saved from pageants and part-time jobs, Nicole packed up her things at 18 and moved a state away. To New York City —well, Astoria, Queens, to be exact. And while, her dingy studio apartment wasn’t the Tribeca loft she’d always dreamed of, Nicole embraced her new journey with great enthusiasm.
Everything seemed to be going great for Nicole. She was taking acting classes at a local community college, making good tips at a trendy bar in SoHo, and landing auditions for minor roles here and there. Everyone was proud and no one was more determined than Nicole. So, eight months later when Nicole showed up in Springhill, New Jersey again; suitcases in hand and a hardened demeanor, Mrs. Genovese just couldn’t understand what would have caused Nicole to give up on her dreams so soon. Everyone pried; from her parents, to her priest at their local parrish, but Nicole’s lips were sealed. She was done with New York and done with acting.
Currently, Nicole works as a bartender at Ceux Qui Sont Tombes. And while, she has no immediate plans to return to school or give acting another shot, Nicole does have a few short term goals in mind. The first is to save up enough money to move out of her parent’s home once again, and the second is to finally connect with her birth mother.
PERSONALITY .
Nicole is a typical Jersey girl in her mannerisms and in her no-nonsense demeanor. While she is generally a sweet and a sensitive person, the girl can get snarky when dealing with certain personalities. In conversations, Nicole is usually the one leading them while simultaneously being so wrapped up in her own thoughts it’s almost like she isn’t even listening. When emotionally bonded to someone Nicole will go to bat for them, setting herself on fire just to keep others warm. She’ll never shy away from a fight and like a true Scorpio Moon and Venus; she’ll use her biting wit and intel to cut you deep. Unlike her peers who all went to college and university after high school, Nicole chose a more uncertain path. This path has lead the brunette to develop somewhat of a defense mechanism. She hates being talked down to, especially when she feels like her intelligence is being insulted. Not having a college degree to fall back on after high school has led Nicole to feeling slightly inferior about her intelligence.
WANTED CONNECTIONS .
I don’t have a list yet...hehe, but I’m open to anything LITERALLY ANYTHING. So please let’s plot ;)
