English subtitle projects - Drama “Mushikago no Joumae” and stage play “Dororo”
I know I was inactive here lately, but I hope I’ll be back to normal soon. And for that I prepared a few projects which may be of interest to some of you.
1) Mushikago no Joumae - English sub
As a few of you already know, I subbed the first episode and it can be found here. The episodes were already translated and @deprofundisad is working on the timing right now. The sub will be release somewhere in mid July because even if the DVD/BD is going on sale tomorrow, we need to account for the international shipping and then the subs will probably need to be resynched a bit.^^ You can have a short preview of the second episode here.
This stage has a special meaning for me so I decided to give it a try and make an English subtitle for it. Since the BD and DVD will be out next month, I’m expecting to finish the whole thing somewhere in mid or end of August.
Note: The subs will the timed with the DVD/BD version. I’ll share the sub files only with those that own a legal copy of the DVD/BD. I know it’s been a while since the sharing incidents but from than moment on I thought about doing something that won’t harm the industry since this can lead to the interruption of international sales. That’s why I’m thinking about sharing it only with those that can prove they’ve bought a copy or joined a cost-sharing project. You don’t know what a cost-sharing project? Some people also call it split-purchase. Basically, it means a little group of people come together to legally buy a stream/DVD/BD to share and enjoy among themselves – just like a bunch of friends would buy together a book and read it together for example. That offers a few benefits along the line: reducing the costs while still supporting the industry (and one’s favorite actor) as much as one’s financial means allows it, and also relying on people with the right skills/equipment to get the content (someone who understands how to use VPN for example). Not to mention the joy of talking about the content with the other members too.~~ As a student with a very modest allowance, that’s how I can get access to great content that would otherwise prove very expensive and difficult to get.
