Lucy
What if I told you something that would creep you out? Something so scary, but yet amazing! When we sleep, we go to different worlds. It could be anywhere, but there's a problem.... you shouldn't remember it. That's what dreams are about. That's why dreams play a very important part in our lives. But there is a downfall to it..... Just like everything else, dreams are here for a reason. Messages, warnings, etc. There's people out there who dreams ends up feeling real. And it scares them completely!!
This story that I'm about to tell you is true.... There's a young girl, who goes by the name of 'Lucy'. She appears in a lot of my dreams and nightmares. Lucy happens to be my daughter! Is she real? It feels real? I haven't told anyone this story because..... well, they might think I'm more bonkers. But I'm ready to tell you the truth....
As I opened my eyes slowly, I felt something pulling my arm. "Dad! Come on! We have to run! We have to get away from them now!"
Lucy shouted, with fear in her eyes. I looked down to my hand and realised I was holding a gun. "What the fuck?"
I questioned to myself. "DAD!"
I turned around and placed Lucy behind me to protect her. "Is okay, I'm here Lucy. It'll be okay. What's following us? What can you see?" I asked, whilst holding the gun mid air.
I've never held a gun before. Not a real one. I weren't going to use it. I'm against weapons. I notice we both was standing outside West Ham station. "Dad.... look!" Lucy calmly said with tears running down her face and pointing in front of us.
I looked straight on and saw a group of people standing there staring at us. They all were wearing Victorian clothes I sensed something wasn't right. I've seen them before somewhere but I can't remember where. "What do you want?!" I shouted.
The main leader pointed directly at Lucy. "Why? She's only a child!" I shouted back.
I looked around and noticed everyone was gone! I needed to come up with am idea quickly. I looked around, trying to work something out. I noticed the post office. I slightly turned my head and whispered "Lucy listen to me, I don't know what these people want from you. But I promise, they are not going to go anywhere near you! Now listen to me carefully. You see the post office next to you? I want you to run whilst covering your ears. Run as fast as you can girl! This gun might be loud. Whilst running, if I'm not behind you and they grab me, I want you to lock yourself in there! And don't come out! Don't come back for me, save yourself. Okay?" I waited for a response from Lucy. But she kept looking at the people.
"Lucy?!" I calmly shouted, so I could get her attention. She looked up and nodded with tears running down her face. "NOW!" I shouted!!
Lucy ran towards the post office as fast as she can whilst the group of people leaped into the air with there black wings suddenly appearing "RUN LUCY!! DON'T LOOK BACK!" I shouted more, as I started shooting at these things.
As I was running the main leader landed right in front of me! I stopped and looked directly into his eyes. I notice Lucy made it to the Post Office and locked herself in. I smiled with relief and took a deep breath. All these things were standing around me in a circle. "Well come on then!! Tell me what you are? And what do you want with Lucy?" I asked.
I placed my gun in my jacket pocket to show them peace. I needed to do that. I needed to know what was happening! "Come on then. You can all talk. You've got mouths haven't you?! ANSWER ME!!" I shouted with anger and nervousness.
"They can't talk. I have complete and utter control over it!" A female's voice said calmly into thin air. "Who are you? And why can't see you?" I asked, as I looked around slowly.
"Oh come on Nick, you don't recognize this voice. I knew you since you were a child. I was there when you was Lucy's age. I taught you in school. I held my hand up in mid air and closed off all you voice boxes. You hated that didn't you Nicholas?" She said.
Then it hit me. That was the voice of Miss Nicholson. Someone who we all feared, even me. "Nicholson! Been a long time sweetheart! Where have you been hiding?" I asked.
I notice the creatures disappeared and it was only me left standing. "I've been watching you Nick. Ever since you was a little brat you caused me nothing but trouble you little bastard!" She shouted in anger!
I gave a smug look and laughed gently. "You know this is why I hate certain teachers like you! You never let things go do you?! I was a child. I've grown up now..... well I can be like a big kid, but I know my wrongs and I jknow my rights!! What do you want with Lucy?" I asked, as I was eager to know the answer.
"We can't have another Nick walking around. One is just enough! " She simply explained. "YOU WHAT?! That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire life! So what is your plan then eh? Kill Lucy and leave me hell bent on revenge in my dreams. Is that it?!" I shouted, as I was shaking with anger!!
Nicholson laughed and laughed and laughed. The demonic laugher was making me more angry! But then I remembered that laugh from somewhere!! I looked up into the air and shouted something. "Show me your face!"
The laughter stopped. "What?" She questioned.
"I said, show me your face!! I don't believe that you are Nicholson!" I said, as I called her bluff.
There were silence upon me. I was waiting for her reply. "HA! Your not Nicholson! Should I tell you why? Whatever you are, you knew that Nicholson was the only teacher I was afraid of!! And your laughter, that laugh is in my book. That's why you laughed in the demonic voice. That is in my new book!! So come on, WHO ARE YOU?!"
Lucy came out of the shops and shouted "Daddy. Come into the shop. Please...."
I turned around and notice the wind was softly blowing her jet black hair. I calmed down so she couldn't see my anger. "Oh Lucy... tell me, what's happened? Who's your mum?" I asked, waiting for the answers.
Lucy looked behind me and said "She's behind you Dad."
I turned around and faced Lucy's mother. "You?!"..............................
Now this is the annoying part. I know her in my dreams, but when I wake up, I can't remember who it is!! Is it someone close to me? But I do remember one thing about her. Her voice.....
"So your Lucy's mother?" I asked, as Lucy continued to stand behind me.
"I am... but I'm not from this world Nick. Lucy is our daughter. But she isn't from our world Nick"
She explained. My head was all over the place. I just wanted to wake up but I couldn't. "Tell me, why is Lucy in my dreams all the time. She crops up everywhere! Is it a sign? Tell me! You seem to know more then I do!"
I waited for an answer from Lucy's mother, but she just stood there. With a sad look on her face. I tried to take a mental image of her into my head but I couldn't.... she was blocking it!! "Why can't I remember you when I wake up! Why are you stopping me?"
I kept asking questions but she wasn't giving me an answer! "Nick, I won't remember this either. I'm trying to get an image of your face, but your stopping it aswell! Your one of the lucky ones. You will remember everything about this dream. But sadly I won't!"
She said, as a couple of tears started to fall from her eyes. I didn't know what to do. Everyone around us vanished into thin air. The sky was grey and the streets was covered with litter! "So Lucy isn't from our world then?"
I asked, as I stood strong. I was terrified. I thought I was going bonkers! The woman shook her head with disappointment. The woman started to fade away, but I remember as she was fading away she left me one last message. She said "Nick, someone close to you will turn on you. She will show her true colours! You must be strong!"
"Her? Who is it? Don't you dare leave me now!! COME BACK!" I shouted, as she disappeared into thin air.
"Daddy, Mummy is waking up now. And you are too. Please don't leave me!"
She poured her heart out to me as my legs were disappearing. I left her my last message "Lucy, listen to me! Find me, whatever dream I have. Good or bad, just find me! I don't know what's going on myself, but I will find out eventually. I promise!"
I said, as half of my body was slowly disappearing into thin air. "Let me come with you please Daddy?!"
I remember tears was running down my face aswell. "Sweetheart you can't. I don't know why, but you just can't. I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I really am!!"
Lucy was still holding my hand when all of a sudden a female's voice appeared from out of nowhere. "Lucy, come to me. You have to let him go."
I looked behind Lucy and I couldn't believe what I was seeing! "What the hell are you doing here Karen?!"
I asked, as it was just my face and chest that was showing. "Nick is okay, I won't remember none of this! Everyone in your life will take care of Lucy somehow when you are not here. No one will remember this apart from you! Wake up, Lucy is safe now!"
As my chest disappeared and my face was slowly fading away. I remember Lucy holding Karen's hand and saying, "Will he be okay Auntie Karen?"
Karen smiled and said "He will always be okay Lucy..... this is your bloody father we're talking about here!"
I woke up. It was 6.45 in the morning and my eyes had tears running down my face!! Lucy might be my daughter in my dreams...... but who is she?!
