As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After many a list, (hypothetical) funeral movie marathon, several galleries, a few obituaries, some group posts, deathly defended films, films we wanted to live in, and other lovely pieces, The Balcony will be closing. It is a bittersweet end. I’ve had such tremendous fun working with such fun and enthusiastic writers every week, and I thank them for their hard work. It was exciting to be the Paris Geller of Editors, to work on fun pieces from day to day. But we will be moving on to greener pastures, of course. All of my Balconians will surely be back at some point, and their bylines are all around the web, and more opportunities I’m sure will come our way. You’ll still see me on Mezzanine from time to time, as well as working as an Assistant Editor, and of course elsewhere. All of us will continue writing about movies because that’s what we love to do. It was an honor and a privilege to work with my Balconians, and I wish them the very best for the future, and also free coffee. I would also like to thank my editor, the head honcho at Movie Mezzanine, Sam Fragoso, for giving me this opportunity. We have some exciting things that are going to be happening over here at Movie Mezzanine, and I hope you’ll be a part of it with us. This isn’t goodbye forever. I am truly honored to have such a wonderful editor and friend. Thank you so much to everyone who showed their support, read, and commented, it was really an incredible experience!
