Reviving the lifting blog solely because I am excited to see quad separation and my calves are lookin' good. I switched to powerlifting after an injury. Currently running GZCL's Jacked and Tan and seeing decent results. Please don't ask about my diet though.
It's a heavy week, but in Greg Everett I trust. Napping every day, but still can't convince myself to track more than loosely. 🙈 if you see me, tell me to eat more food.
My lifting schedule is so fucked from traveling for the gala that IDEK how to fix it. Maybe combine some days at lower volume? Skipping my test day induced mad naps.
These are getting better even when I'm exhausted af from being an idiot all weekend. This is like 70% moving mostly okay.
That die in the gym life
Clark told me not to run on my second rest day, and to actual take the entire day to rest and I am like
When the scaption starts happening and you also apparently gained a shit ton of back muscle over the summer👌🏻
somehow I lost two pounds. I’ve been mad hungry this week, but kept cals constant because I am like OFC YOU ARE HUNGRY, YOU SQUATTED HEAVY A MILLION TIMES.
gonna continue keeping them steady because a) I’ve got fat to lose if this program wants to take it, and b) I would have to track food again if I upped them and food tracking is boring.
Oh and here's my very bad clean and jerk at 95(?)
A messy heavy single at 80lbs. I will fuckin' take it.
Photo from a recent gym sesh at a gym with a mirror. Wild concept! I'm in week 3 of Catalyst's 12 Week Basic Program, and I think it's going pretty well. I stopped trying to cut like immediately after starting, but kept those 2lbs off and am holding steady at 140. Crossing my fingers for some recomp on this cycle but also losing the ability to care about the specific shape I am to some degree (except when I watch videos of myself haha.) Videos to follow of clean and jerk and snatch. My jerk is easily the worst thing I do in life, and needs serious improvement. Increasingly proud of the snatch, especially because my heavy single was two month's ago's PR (80) and it was just a little messy.
And here's a lower hip position for a later set. Idk how to improve these so LMK.
Finally started Catalyst Athletics' 12 Week Basic Cycle. Here are clean pulls at 90% where my hips are really high because I guess I think I'm deadlifting.
There’s a lot of discussion in the fitness industry about whether crash dieting can cause metabolic damage. In this article, we’ll take on this interesting topic and separate fact from fiction. We’ll also teach you exactly why crash diets might be linked to struggling to maintain your weight in the future.
Really interesting article from Precision Nutrition!

My friend Rachael from college used to do CrossFit with me. She was such a beast, but now she’s transitioned to doing bikini competitions. I haven’t seen her since graduation, since she moved to Florida, but she’s now taking on bikini clients. I’m 99% sure she’s not a certified trainer. She’s a freaking nurse. I hate how people feel like doing a couple of bikini competitions makes them qualified to give people nutrition advice or make them workout plans.
She posted a video of herself doing single leg RDLs on the Smith machine. That fucking defeats the entire point of single leg RDLs, which is stability. Single leg RDLs are not meant to be used as a hypertrophy exercise. You can do traditional RDLs or other movements for that.
Guys, if someone doesn’t clearly post their credentials on social media, DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! The human body is a science. It’s not some joke of an experiment. Doing competitions alone is not enough “experience.”
