it's been hard feeling prideful when i'm so fucking angry at many things, mostly how much my home country, scotland, has regressed when it comes to trans rights, how difficult it has been to access healthcare, how much public opinion has been changed thanks to right-wing cunts and their bigoted propaganda, how unsafe so many trans folk feel right now.

despite the despair, i want to keep fighting. for myself, for my loved ones, for everyone else, everywhere else, going through it too.

my first ever ffxiv fanart! it's inspired by the quest "A Promise of Peace". this took me many hours to complete, but i wanted to do this art of Wuk Lamat justice. i'm happy with how it came out, and happy to finish art of one of my favourite characters!

so... 2024! it was certainly a year.

i've still been stuck inbetween trying to get back into art and dealing with health problems, and so i have a few doodles and sketches here and there but nothing substanstial, except for a couple of things that nearly were bigger projects but i have kind of abandoned for now, and may never return to.

don't get me wrong, not everything needs to be posted, but it kind of sucks when you spend a lot of time and energy on an unfinished big piece, or liking a doodle but feeling it isn't worth anything on it's own. so it made it look like i have just ghosted this account.

it's especially rough since my health problems already mean i have to take art slowly, so it can be extra frustrating to feel like i have nothing to show for my time and efforts...

there are some actually finished pieces from this year i've yet to share, though! i need to find the energy to actually put them together. (i also have finished pieces from this year that i can't show on tumblr!) but before the year is out, i thought to just shove these WIPs and doodles out there to stop them haunting me. i'm not dead yet!

while i can't make any big promises for next year, i am hoping to find a little more motivation. health permitting, of course.

i recently completed the story of the thousand year door remake (first time ever playing the game in general!), and it was fantastic! of course i can now officially jump on the I Love Vivian train! 💕
