♨ : Does your muse have good table manners? How do they feel about bad table manners?
Nina’s table manners are impecible. Whilst she doesn’t care if people don’t like her, she wont let that reason be because she’s uncivilised, or a slob.

“It’s not poison, it’s just a piece of chocolate. Can’t a guy ever make a nice gesture without someone questioning their motives?” Considering it was Cas, they really shouldn’t accept any action that came across as anything but self-serving without a great deal of skepticism. Even this, waving around a piece of candy in his hands, wasn’t entirely about being nice. “I had two pieces and the nice thing to do is share, right? So go on, take the last one.”
A lie again, because of course it was. There had only ever been one piece to begin with, but Cas didn’t eat chocolate, so that wasn’t a problem. He was happy to get rid of it and yes, he could have thrown it away, but why do that if he could give it a purpose? He’d read once somewhere that if you wanted someone to like you, then you should ask to borrow a pencil. It was a simple favor that anyone could grant and it made them like you because you’d needed them or were indebted to them, something like that. It wasn’t quite the same principle, but Cas figured that giving gifts was still a good way to endear someone to you.
Nina looked the man up and down, an extremely skeptical look on her face. “I didn’t think it was poison, I do now.” she said, raising a brow at the man. “I don’t often get offered chocolate by random people in shops.” She’d just wanted to get a coffee, and maybe a nice snack before class. And now she was being spoken to by a random man offering chocolate. Was this man a psychopath? Who knows.
Possibly in a lapse of judgement, Nina shrugged and took the piece of chocolate. “Sharing is caring, I guess they say. Though it’s usually sharing with the people you already know.”

“The chilling charms are probably more effective though. I just remember my father used to carve his own big spheres of ice for his drinks. That was his explanation.” She shrugged her shoulders slightly and sipped at her wine. It annoyed her that they were even talking about Diana. It was making her wine taste bad. “Someone like herself? What? Pompous and rude?” she scoffed. “Diana hates me. No wonder she wants you to see someone else. Probably won’t stop until you’re married to some floozy socialite friend of hers.” Nina could feel herself pouting, she couldn’t stop it either, imagining what leggy brunette with huge boobs or something Antonin would have been set up with. That thought was pushed from her mind and she snapped back to attention when Antonin spoke again. She took a moment, “Are you just saying that so I don’t get upset about Diana wanting to set you up?”
“They probably are more effective, but there’s nothing wrong with an aesthetic.” He liked nice things, of course, since he had worked so hard to achieve them. Antonin could tell she was irritated, though he didn’t realize she was that much so. His brows lifted at her comments and he lifted his own glass to his lips, hoping that the alcohol would numb his senses just a touch. “I’ll speak to Malcolm and I’m certain it will stop,” he pointed out, not wishing to go too far into it, though expecting his friend would be able to curb his wife’s worst impulses.
The question shocked him and, if it had not been clear that Nina was so upset by it all, he might have been rather offended. As it was, his eyes softened and he reached for her, pulling her in against his body as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “No, I’m saying it because it’s true,” he drawled, his words soft. “You are the most important person in my life.” Save Sanya who, unfortunately, was still imprisoned in Azkaban.
“I do enjoy aesthetics.” Nina smiled, checking once more on the dinner to ensure everything was going according to plan. The idea of Diana trying to ear worm her way into Antonins head. She wasn’t even sure much of it was Diana’s concern for Antonin. She was positive that it was about her dislike for Nina. She pursed her lips and thought about what she might say in her next run in with Diana. “Well Malcolms not my biggest fan at the moment either. But I appreciate that” she said.
Nina was caught up in her negative spiral of thoughts, suddenly sure that Antonin wasn’t serious with her. Until he spoke. He pulled her into him, and she rested her arms on top of his shoulders. He kissed her forehead and she closed her eyes. The most important person in his life. She took a breath and looked up to him “the most important? That’s quite a title” she smiled slightly, whilst her heart felt like it was fluttering with joy, she wanted to make sure he was being truthful. “I feel the same” she said, resting her hand on the side of his face and brushing her thumb against his cheek.

“Me neither. I’m firmly of the belief that everything that can be solved with a good cup of tea.” She nodded. It was what her grandmother had told her as such for as long as she could remember, and she’d be damned if she wasn’t sticking to it now.
“It’s a terrible time. All holidays are. Not in a bad way, obviously,” She reassured. “It’s just, I work at Flourish and Blotts, right? So every Valentine’s Day, or Christmas, we get all these people rushing in looking for first editions of some obscure book. And it’s always the day beforehand. It’s like no one knows how to shop ahead of time.”
“You’re not wrong.” Nina nodded, digging through her bag to find her apartment keys as they approached her door. She pushed her way into her apartment, and moved to the kitchen, beckoning Mafalda to follow her as she put the kettle on.
“Shopping around any time of any holiday is a nightmare” Nina agreed, but then the mention of Flourish and Blotts made her pause. Mafalda’s words after that were completely lost on her. “You work at Flourish and Blotts?” Nina asked, turning to look at her “Did you work with Elena?”

Antonin shrugged his shoulders before taking a long sip of his drink. He looked at her liquor and nodded. “Perhaps for my next one,” he drawled. Lips curved up once more. “I’ve not tried those,” he admitted, though he’d never been one for ice at all. There was something to muggle about it, but he would not offend Nina by saying so. At her comment, he shook his head. “I assume because she thinks I should be seeing someone like herself,” he said. “I made it clear her meddling was not needed or wanted, however.” And he hoped that Diana realized he’d been serious. Antonin looked back over at Nina. “I don’t want to be with anyone but you.”

Antonin nodded, agreeing with what she had said. He knew that he appreciated finer things simply because he’d needed to work for them in a way that so many in Britain did not. The idea of generational wealth irritated him more than he could say and he took a sip of the drink he’d prepared. “I drink vodka, usually,” he said with a quirk of his lips. “With an ice charm to keep it cold. Actual ice dilutes it too much.” The face he made was fond, however, and he leaned against a countertop as Nina asked if he’d had a nice evening. “I did,” he agreed with a shrug of one shoulder. “Though I could have done without Malcolm’s wife trying to set me up with someone else.”
“Oh well I’ve got some nice vodka. I’m not an animal” Nina laughed, stirring the pot on the stove and covering it with a lid to let it simmer, also giving her a chance to chat without distracting herself. “Thats true, unless you use one of those big sphere ones, they melt slower.” She said, turning to him. As soon as he mentioned Malcolm’s wife, Nina’s face dropped. Set him up? “What? Diana was trying to set you up? Why?” She furrowed her brows at Antonin. Then Nina’s mind started to run away from her. Had he asked her to? If he had what was he doing here with her? Was she just a fun plaything? That wouldn’t do. She wouldn’t let that happen.

“What kind of girl would be if I said no to a cup of tea, huh?” She tried to joke. Whoever said humour couldn’t be a reasonable defense mechanism? This time last year, she might have turned down an offer like that, regardless of whether she was having a nuclear-level freak out or not, but now? Everyone knew what happened to her. She could see it in the looks they gave her. She didn’t have any pride left to lose in admitting she might need some help.
“Wouldn’t want that. Everyone rushing around for last minute Valentine’s Day gifts, I’m sure I’d eventually get barrelled down.” She shrugged. “I watched a guy nearly knock over an old lady during his mad dash to the florist. It’s carnage out here.”
“Definitely not someone I want to associate with.” Nina smiled, then started walking in the direction of her apartment. She’d seen Mafalda’s name pop up in the papers, she was sure she must be going through something far more complicated than just a ‘hard time’.
“I’m sure you would.” Nina nodded, she had hoped to stay well away from florists or chocolate shops for the past week, it was getting out of hand. “My god, it really is.”
She leaned back in her chair with her feet on the table, waiting for Nina to come home from rehearsal. It was her day off, and she was in white socks, shorts, and an oversized tank top, her hair in a messy bun and a mixing bowl full of three different types of cereals mixed together in her lap.
Usually she wasn’t so messy, but she had made sure to leave a trail of dribbled milk and cereal, a path leading directly to where she currently leaned, casually waiting. Nina was going to be so pissed. The thought had her smiling.
There was no purpose to sitting at the the table other than the fact that she was in the mood to be annoying, and Nina was the perfect target. She chewed loudly and laughed to herself as she waited for the door to swing open.
@ninafedxrxva
Nina pushed open her front door with her bags full of groceries. She was going to cook a big meal for her and Yuki, she’d had a big day of rehearsals, and then she’d dropped by Hogsmede to get a drink with Antonin after classes had finished. She was tired, but very smiley. Somehow Antonin did that.
“Yuki- Are you home?” Nina called as she pushed the door closed with her foot, her rehearsal bag slung over her shoulder. She wasn’t prepared for the picture that suddenly appeared in front of her.
“What the fuck?” Her mouth dropped open as she saw each thing, first Yuki’s feet on the table, then the mixing bowl in her lap, and finally the mess on the floor. “It’s a fucking pigsty in here” Nina snapped in Russian, completely baffled by the sight before her. “Are you a pig? What is happening right now?”
It was an hour before the official closing time, though Xiomara definitely knew that they would be open for at least a couple more hours. It was the same thing every day, and she could swear she could do the job with her eyes closed. With Odette off though, the whole dynamic was off. It was simply one drink after the other, with the manager bad-mouthing her words every now and again. Pouring another drink, she spotted a familiar face sitting by herself. She looked around the White Wyvern, looking to see the usual group that gathered around Nina, but she saw none. Instead, she filled up another pint and put it in front of the girl. “So what, the usual gang just left you, or did you decide to ram the dark on your own for once?” She grinned, leaning over the bar, as her eyes watched the girl. She was an unusual customer, but Xio admired that more than anything else. @ninafedxrxva
Drinks after a performance, the norm, Nina was almost getting bored of it. Not almost, she was. She liked her friends at the company, but this routine was getting almost tedious. They’d always end up leaving and talking to guys, or leaving without telling anyone. On this occasion both had happened, and now Nina was sitting at the bar by herself, because she was tired, and wanted another drink before going home. The White Wyvern wasn’t her first choice, but she had been there a few times. She sat at the bar flicking through her calendar from her purse, checking what was on for the next week, when she looked up at a voice. “They’ve either gone to sleep, or gone off with some random guy for the night.” Nina nodded towards one of her friends who was clearly flirting with a man who had- oh god a soul patch. “And I wanted one more drink. Thanks” she said, picking up the glass and sipping it.
Whilst Nina liked her wardrobe, she very much enjoyed dressing well, she couldn’t help herself when she walked past a store with a beautiful coat, or a stunning skirt. Plus she had a gala coming up at the ballet, she needed a new dress. A deep emerald one caught her eye and she reached out and pulled it off the rack, it was gorgeous, though she realised very quickly, that there was someone else holding onto the dress that she hadn’t noticed. She’d been too preoccupied by the beautiful colour. “Sorry, I think I had this one first.”

mafxlda:
She nodded. It wasn’t often that she woke up in her bed with someone without having slept with them, let alone a famous ballerina. Let alone Elena’s sister. But that was a place she couldn’t go, not here, not right now. That was a dark and depressing turn of events that she was quite sure neither of them wanted to go down.
“I, well-” There was really no use in lying now, was there? And even if she had tried to say otherwise, she was almost certain the rest of her would give it away. “I don’t think so? But I also don’t really know what’s going on, so you can see the conundrum I’m having.”
Nina tilted her head slightly, and she felt a spark of an old feeling she’d not had in a while, a feeling she’d buried. She felt protective, in the same way she used to with Elena. When Elena got in one of her moods, and Nina would help relax her. She became quite good at recognising when people were overwhelmed.
She nodded as Mafalda spoke, “My apartment is just around the corner. Would you like to go back to it? Have a cup of tea? Figure out whats going on?” Nina asked, pointing in the direction of her apartment. “You don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. You can just sit. At least you’d be out of peoples way” she tried to joke, looking at Mafalda with a small smile.
antonintheviper:
Kissing Nina was different from kissing Katsiaryna. He could not say if it was better – though it was certainly not worse – and even now, as he looked over at her, Antonin found Nina enchanting. His lips quirked at the corners at the grin on her face and he pressed one more kiss to her temple as she took the flowers from his hand. He shrugged at the assertion that the place was small and when he spoke, it was in Russian. “I did not grow up in such opulence as I live in now,” he told her quietly, a fact that he was revealing but had not necessarily given to others. “At the end of the day, it matters little.” He smiled at her thanks and moved to her drink cart to get something to drink. “Something a bit stronger,” he admitted with a small grin on his face. “You know, I realized we never got to discuss much of the Yule Ball. Did you enjoy it?”
Nina smiled as Antonin poured himself a drink “I didn’t either. I grew up on a farm, far from opulence. I think it’s why I do enjoy a bit of it now” she replied in Russian, walking over to the stroganoff to check on it, sipping her wine as she stirred slightly. “Whats your drink of choice? I’ll buy some to keep on hand.” Nina loved the way the corner of his mouth turned up slightly, he seemed very cheeky in that moment. She liked catching those small smirks, it proved that Antonin was someone who had an exterior that was there for most people, and she felt special to be able to see behind it. “We didn’t did we- I did I had a wonderful night. Thank you for taking me. Did you have a good night?”
