The Grateful Dead & Beach Boy/Green Day & Oasis
I re-watched the Green Day and Oasis fight recently and I couldn't help but notice something.
For the most part, it's almost exactly the same as the Grateful Dead and Beach Boy fight.
First Point: TGD+BB fight, Narancia gets taken out first through nasty body horror. Trish tends to him.
GD+O fight, Narancia gets taken out first through nasty body horror. Trish tends to him.
Second Point TGD+BB fight, Giorno stops Mista before he heads out and figures out how the enemy stand works.
GD+O fight, Giorno stops Mista from moving his hand down too much and figures out how the enemy
stand works
Third Point: TGD+BB fight, Mista goes for the obvious route and gets caught in the second, unknown enemies'
trap.
GD+O fight, Mista and Bruno got for the obvious route and get caught in the second, unknown
enemies' trap.
Fourth Point: TGD+BB fight, Mista figures out what's going on and thwarts the second, unknown enemy.
GD+O fight, Bruno figures out what's going on and thwarts the second, unknown enemy.
Fifth Point: TGD+BB fight, Mista gets taken out while being cocky and is incapacitated with his own bullets, with most
of Sex Pistols taken out, down to the last. Bruno takes over the fight.
GD+O fight, Mista gets taken out while being cocky and is incapacitated with his own bullets, with most
of Sex Pistols taken out, down to the last. Giorno takes over the fight.
Sixth Point: TGD+BB fight, the last Sex Pistol number helps out the other person in the fight, doing something that
allows Bruno to come out on top. Also, Bruno escapes tries to take out an enemy by zipping away, falling
out of the train.
GD+O fight, the last Sex Pistol number helps the other person out, doing something that allows Giorno
to come out on top. Also, Bruno escapes an enemy by zipping away, falling down from his current
position (these one is minor compared to the others, but still a similarity.)
Seventh Point: TGD+BB fight, Bruno realizes that Pesci is a bigger threat than Prosciutto, after Pesci gets angry over
Prosciutto losing.
GD+O fight, Bruno realizes that Secco is a bigger threat than Cioccolata , after Secco gets angry
over Cioccolata losing.
Eighth Point: TGD+BB fight, Bruno is on the defensive, trying to survive Pesci's stand that allows it to go through
solid surfaces like water. Also, Pesci is locating Bruno through a method other than sight.
GD+O fight, Bruno is on the defensive, trying to survive Secco's stand that allows him to go through
solid surfaces like water. Also, Secco is locating Bruno through a method other than sight.
Ninth Point: TGD+BB fight, Pesci locates Bruno as Bruno tries to hide, and Bruno puts himself in worse danger to
overcome it, which allows him to win in the end.
GD+O fight, Secco locates Bruno as Bruno tries to hide, and Bruno puts himself in worse danger to
overcome it, which allows him to win in the end.
Tenth Point: TGD+BB fight, defeated, Pesci takes the turtle hostage, and almost kills it and the rest of Bruno's crew.
Bruno uses Sticky Fingers to zip his way to victory and save the hostages. A pink haired person is close
by.
GD+O fight, defeated, Secco takes Doppio hostage, and threatens to kill him. Bruno uses Sticky Fingers
to zip his way to victory and save the hostage. The hostage is a pink haired person.
Eleventh Point: TGD+BB fight, Bruno delivers a satisfying and brutal beat down, killing Pesci.
GD+O fight, Giorno delivers a satisfying and brutal beat down, killing Cioccolata.
Last Point: After the fight, Bruno discovers that Prosciutto, the first enemy, was in contact with his allies at some
point during the fight via mobile phone.
After the fight, Giorno discovers that Cioccolata, the first enemy, was in contact with his ally at some
point during the fight via mobile phone.
Even the stands are similar.
The Grateful Dead, a stand that indiscriminately attacks those around it with a horrifying, body altering process.
Green Day, a stand that (almost) indiscriminately attacks those around it with a horrifying, body altering process.
Beach Boy, a stand named after something related to a body of water, that can go through solid objects like water and track enemies through vibrations felt in the line.
Oasis, a stand named after something related to a body of water, that can go through solid objects like water and track enemies through vibrations felt in the liquid ground.
Some other, minor similarities are that Prosciutto and Cioccolata both rub their allies head on two separate occasions. Oh, and Prosciutto and Cioccolata both used their stand abilities to alter their bodies and take one of the protagonists by surprise.
TL;DR, Araki wrote the same damn fight twice, with some alterations, and the glorious bastard got away with it. I'm sure other people have noticed it, but I really had to get it off my chest haha.
