My unpopular opinion with Santana & the relationship with the other pillarmen

I always hear the other 3 treat him so poorly. Kars dismissed his defeat & called him weak. Like yes, he's weak because he's younger & still developing. It seems kinda illogical in my opinion.

From the way I see it , I think Kars was suppressing vulnerable emotions to make us THINK he didn't care about him. He was in the face of his enemy after all. & for all he knows, he can't risk having the humans use those emotions against him. You see a similar suppressed behavior with Wamuu. Although, he shows a little more because he realized all he had is dead so he fights it.

He kept Santana behind to protect the masks from humans. Due to Santana being weaker, he thought hamon users were a bigger threat to him. He can't risk the weakest one losing to him. He didn't expect humans to find him.

I believe he saw potential in Santana, but he just wasn't ready yet.

He was probably going to get the red stone, they all evolve, then he brings it back over to Mexico where he uses it on Santana.
